  1. Thank you so much Trader KGB. Your explanations on the trading hours are very helpful.

    One more question please:

Today (Monday 25 May), the e-mini ES has been trading electronically from 00.01am (midnight) London time to 16.30 London time.

There was no trading between 16.30 London time and 23.00 London time.

And then it started trading again from 23.00 onwards London time.

I am surprised because the CME website says it should start trading at 21.30 London time.

I am very confused  Is the CME website wrong?

  2. Also, I noticed the FULL SIZE S&P500 and NQ100 are trading but the spread is huge, it is very very illiquid and untradable on an intraday timeframe. If you get in and get out, you lose a very large spread!!!

Is this expected? I am a newbie on the American futures. Looks like these futures are deserted? Nobody wants to trade them? WHY?

  3. Memorial Day holiday in the US, equity markets closed, futures trading hours were scaled back and liquidity will be very light.

  4. Thanks for the clarification.
Difficult to get this sort of information for an non American person.
Is this written somewhere on the CME website this is Memorial day. I am guessing the CME have published somewhere the trading hours for the memorial day?
