The food labeling fight is still going on. I remember it in the '60's, a woman named Ida Honoroff was spearheading a campaign just to get all the bastard people with businesses both small and large to label their products so consumers had some clue about what they were getting! They just want to sell us stuff and not tell us what it is and the FDA will help them to do that! If Fascism is defined as business and government working together to screw over the little guy then that is what we have. More government power is not the answer, better quality of government is the answer but that's not going to happen while campaigns are financed by donations and the regulators are in bed with businesses.
The FDA are nothing but criminal shills. Fortune 100 own the Government. There's so much crap in the US food supply, it's mind-boggling. Yet, the rate of cancer has exploded. I'm sure one has nothing to do with the other.
