I enjoy reading your posts and think that you are actually saying the right things when we take away feelings and all the other bullshit. But I think when it comes to Trump, this was the correct choice given the options. The Democrats were absolutely more corrupt than the Republicans. I of course don't have any faith in either side because all they do is spend money that isn't theirs and no matter what decisions they make, they will never lose personally. But the combination of high debt, high interest, and an economy surviving on only government spending and hiring can't survive another term, no matter who got into office. I think in order to save the America, Trump has to make drastic cuts, pull back from running the world, and accept that the USD cannot play the role of the world reserve currency anymore since it has hollowed out the US. This is now a managed demolition of US hegemony and trying to stay on the correct side of what the next system will be, and trying to position yourself to still be at the top. I do think Trump will get more things wrong than right, but there was no positive future with open borders and increased government spending. Its like you're on the Titanic and its filling up with water. The least you can do is open the doors to all the different levels so that everyone has a fair chance of getting out. Most are still going to drown, but at least you didn't lock them in and seal their fate.
Kamala was a weak candidate but in no way more corrupt than Trump. He’s literally hawking teslas on the front lawn because Elon bribed him. He’s turning away legal permanent residents because they say bad things about Trump in private conversations. the annual Easter egg hunt will have a corporate sponsor. His family is openly creating private equity firms to invest in companies his policies will benefit from. Including binance and another crypto company. He’s shilling his own meme coin. And for some inexplicable reason he’s denigrating our allies while cozying up to our enemies. finally he reneging on a trade deal he negotiated. Those Canadian tarrifs on dairy: he negotiated them. and that’s all in like 60 days edit; and this is from this afternoon from the Wall Street journal “The Trump family’s World Liberty Financial is launching a stablecoin, its latest bid to capitalize on a crypto-market revival kindled by the president’s election. World Liberty’s USD1 will be backed by short-term U.S. Treasurys, U.S. dollar deposits…”
The degree of corruption in the current administration is on par with what I’ve seen in the former USSR. We have the fucking US president shilling his memecoin while in the office.
I like reading @NoahA post. But what twilight zone are we living in? I mean just follow Trumps entire life and tell me how he isn’t a con. Its baffling. In 4 years we are either going to be amazingly surprised or it’s going to be the biggest “we told you so” I ever told you so.
I agree with all of this. But the Biden crime family is no better. They support cutting off penises from little boys and breasts from girls just entering puberty. As for the tariffs, I think its all a distraction. He wants to bring production back home and not even negotiate. Plus, I think he is trying to increase transparency. Would the Dems have gutted USAID which is obviously just a way for politicians and oligarchs to launder US taxpayer money? The crypto position I'm very much in favor of. All fiat currencies must die, replaced by a hard currency that cannot be printed. The sooner this happens, the better off everyone else will be. The corruption will greatly decrease because when money can't be printed, those with the printer lose power. So unfortunately, I have to accept all the bullshit that Trump will do for personal gain in order to fix the few important issues.
It unfortunately took a con man to get into power so that the power structure can change. Look at what is happening to Europe. Forced immigration in order to destabilize the way of life that has been working for centuries. There is a force that is pushing for this. No citizens of any of these countries want to import people from other cultures if the end result is destabilization. But this is exactly what is happening. The WEF keeps pushing mandates that no ordinary citizen wants. So you need someone like Trump that will put an end to it.
Umm what? My version: Post WW2 guilt (be extremely careful about being a racist!) together with neoliberal bias (freedom of choice will always lead to good outcomes!) and left'ish/Christian generosity/moral high horsing (let's be nice and let them live here, not doing so is evil!) has led to a too relaxed policy in e.g. my country Sweden for a couple of decades.
