Maybe this was posted before, I don't know. Man, what a mood setter. My favorite solo (and there's a lot of 'em) by santana: Samba Pa Ti ... carlos/abraxas/santana
another title just came to mind 2day... 'come again' by damn yankees 1st solo is by one of the guys from Night Ranger- i think its Gillis. Second one is by Ted. Notice the different styles and speed of the 2 solos. this is my last post on this thread blackguard
A couple that come to mind: Clapton playin' with Keith Richards, Pete (?) and John Lennon on Yer Blues (Rolling Stones Circus)... Steve Vai in the movie Crossroads... ...the best ever is just a matter of preference and what's running though my head at the moment. For ex., I saw a documentary on Vietnam once and in the opening scene there was a camera inside a Huey carrying wounded weaving through the jungle. Blood everywhere, dark and wet. All of a sudden, the chopper tilted, the camera angled out the open door and a machine gun bolted to the floor swung around with two guys unloading as much as they could into the bush. This whole scene took place in slow motion and complete silence - but at the exact moment the crew started firing into the jungle and taking on fire, Gimme Shelter by the Stones started playing... and that's all you heard. The lehrics now make sense. One of the most haunting images I have ever seen on the War.
That was close... but no cigar. Was that Peter Sellers in the back? Anyway, this one is really good too http://youtube.com/watch?v=9hYlWNfhhBw&mode=related&search=
Delay solo by Yngvie If you like Yngvie, check this out. A cool delay effect. Hope it wasn't posted already. Please go to +55 seconds on the video to skip the intro go straight to the piece. Happy Holidays Everyone.
Old school, yeah Yngwie does some of the most impressive stuff around. Too bad his albums sound like bad heavy metal. Still the best IMO though. On a sad note, Boston singer Brad Delp passes at age 55 http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,258108,00.html
