this is not exactly rock and roll (and it has some brokeback mountain overtones) but this solo is bitchin: http://youtube.com/watch?v=QdMeO6U-1LY&search=classical guitar
Here is interesting classical piece, Vivaldi, by Uli Roth, who gave us Tokyo Tapes with Scorpions. Thanks Uli, I love that double record!!! The reason I am showing this because he has a 32 frets specially made guitar, you don't see that everyday: http://youtube.com/watch?v=ouTd8hNxyEk&search=uli roth By the way Uli wrote 4 classical pieces in the 90s....
OK, here are links to playing each other's guitars. The first is the Los Lonely Boys, I saw them in concert, great guitarplaying and showmanship: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Lw3dkD81l78&search=los lonely boys This one is 4 guitarists playing the others' guitars, Vai and Co. It is a long song and the action starts around halfway. I saw this last year... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdTjcdXM5TU
What are all you axe meisters' thoughts on acoustic players? I'm particularly fond of Rik Emmett and Steve Howe. Emmett's "Midsummer's Daydream" & "Fantasy Serenade" are, IMO, amazing pieces of work, and Howe's "Mood for a Day" is just classic! And of course, Segovia. Just incredible...
I love all kind of GOOD music be it accoustic or electirc. Let's mention another player Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme fame. Here he is playing an accoustic piece called Midnight Express: http://youtube.com/watch?v=NUMRtHG69V8&search=nuno bettencourt And here it is a long electric solo: http://youtube.com/watch?v=EdcYtBnDEQQ&search=nuno bettencourt
