I still play weekly after all these years... seriously doubt your confident quote is true. Seriously doubt you were better than the shredders (or me)! I don't do drugs... I wouldn't want to make the amount of mistakes the classic burnouts did while playing live.
I WAS better than they are. They play the same ol' stuff over and over. I knew way more styles than they could even think of. To me, they sound like one trick ponies. They are stuck in their own mud.
Maybe these guys play more than one style "shredder" as you call it... If so, then I must of missed those tunes. What guitars do you play? What styles? And staying off the dope is a good idea...

OK, so for you music stopped at 3 guitarplayers from the 60s-80s, bad for you. There is such a thing as diversity, you know. You could argue that novelwritting stopped in the 1920s and all new novels are the clones of older ones. Still, new novels can be just as enjoyable as old ones, if not more. (By the way, did you know that there are no more than 25 original movie ideas?) There is no account for taste, but just because you didn't become as successful as the above mentioned players and your envy is showing, dude, blame yourself for not trying harder. By the way feel free to put your own music up on Youtube, and since I am a very objective guy, if you are good, I will give you credit.
