Well, it doesn't really matter why, as long as they stop doing it. But please don't tell me they were not aware of it until some guy (you) tried to trade ER2. TM Trader
Still can't believe this could happen. Well, stuff like this does NOT happen with IB. Outages, yes, problems like this, afaik NO. So ER2 = Electronic Russell 2000, that makes sense. What does "ES" stand for? Or "NQ"? Still have no idea. Anybody know? Not exactly the kind of thing to google for unless you want to go trough sth like 500,000,000 results LOL. Perhaps not everything has to make sense.
I got an email from Rick Tomsic, the President of Open E Cry, this morning. They handled the situation very well. They admitted it was their mistake and credited my account for $110, eating the loss on that specific trade. They also updated their program to route ER2 trades directly to Globex. This was something that was overlooked by their programmers when they upgraded their trading platform. What more can I ask for? They admitted and fixed the actual problem, and ate the loss. People who were waiting to hear back from me before switching to OEC, go ahead and make the switch! This firm is top-notch and knows how to treat its customers. -Fast
This is the best response you can hope from a broker. Still two things would make me worry: (1) How can you overlook the routing of a specific contract to it's exchange? They might need to take a look into their development process. (2) Since you are the first trader who traded ER2 since their upgrade... It seems like they don't have a lot of customers... TM Trader
True, BUT I won't give my money to a company that might not have enough revenue to stay around. TM Trader

TM...Keep in mind, not many traders watch ER2. ER2 is the only contract I had a problem with, and they were quick to fix the problem. I'd rather deal with a broker who responds to problems FAST, rather than someone like IB who you have to email 50 times to get someone to reply. In the end, to each his own. There's no perfect broker, but this one fits the bill for me. -Fast
