I'm not sure - But it's more about the platform, anyway. I've been with Button pretty much from the beginning, had lots of inputs and quite a few of my ideas and thoughts have flown into the development of the features. You know, the things I really look at in my trading, like cumulative volume etc. FFastFill etc, from what I can see, just sucks in comparison to Button. I mean, even X_Trader doesn't offer the things that make Button so awesome. But then - maybe soon they will... They all catch up eventually...
What do you like about Button Trader? Is it the DOM or the bracket order entry system? I didn't try it because I think it draws a bunch of charts that I didn't see of any value. I did try Bracket Trader but found when I tried to change a stop price it would delete it instead.
Hi pspr, yeah, it's the DOM and the general functionality, like programmed strategies and stuff. There's so much stuff it's hard to cover even a fraction here. As for the charts - They're for entry fine tuning and for scalpers (I use it all the time), and to visually show you the volume pressure (rather than just normal DOM). But if you don't like the charts, you can just drag them aside, no need to display them. I love it, have a whole screen dedicated to the platform (with several market depths and tapes on top), couldn't do without it. Forget Bracket Trader, it's a POS.
If you have problems with Bracket Trader and still looking for a simple but effective and cheap (it's free) platform for IB you can try AutoTrader. TM Trader
Futures-Trader is also a good platform, and I think it's only a one-time $50 to get the full (non-sim) version. That's one ES point.
I hear a lot of good things about it. Personally, I didn't find it very comfortable and not enough added value for me. But this is very individual. TM Trader
