Yes, that works, but even those records go away if you close your platform and then re-open it after market close. I work full-time, so I close out my platform when I leave for work. When I get back in the evening and re-open the OEC platform, it has already cleared out my trades for that trading day. OEC needs to add date/time to their activity reports. -Fast
January 14th (Wednesday) Total trades: 5 (All Shorts) 3 Winners, 2 Losers 8:37 AM - Short 1 ES 1123.00 8:41 AM - Cover 1 ES 1123.50 Result: -0.50 8:45 AM - Short 1 ES 1124.25 8:53 AM - Cover 1 ES 1123.50 Result: +0.75 9:10 AM - Short 1 DAX 4061 9:17 AM - Cover 1 DAX 4060 Result: +1.00 Notes: Early exit. Could have covered around 4054 if I had waited a few minutes, but I was afraid DAX would make a higher high and break 4064 so I exited with just a point. 2:02 PM - Short 1 ES 1127.25 2:04 PM - Cover 1 ES 1129.25 (Stop-loss hit) Result: -2.00 Notes: I entered this trade over my lunch break, put on a stop-loss and went back to work. I told myself I would not put on any trades that I could not monitor so I certainly deserved this loss. 2:24 PM - Short 1 ES 1129.00 2:40 PM - Cover 1 ES 1128.50 Result: +0.50 Notes: Made this trade from work while I was connected to home PC using GoToMyPC.com. Shouldn't have made this trade since I can only see 1 of my monitors when I remote connect so don't have all the info visible to me since I use 3 screens at home. Overall: ES: -1.25 DAX: +1
Yeah. You were. And I still stand to my point that it could be rather dangerous for a beginner! There are many reasons why I think DAX is better, though. There's too little volatility and too large tick size in the ES to get that much out of it. ES these days is like trying to watch paint dry! Unless ES gets a tick size of 0.1 per tick or less, I really see no future for ES as a scalping medium. In fact, YM is much better, and to be considered the single best scalping market in the US. The problem here though is tiny liquidity, tiny tick value ($5/T) and massive commissions. All of which the DAX beats the crap out of, with E12.50/T, 60+ point daily ranges, and Eurex's lower comms structure and exchange rules, such as native stops on Eurex, which can only be simulated on Globex! The only argument for ES & Co is if you want to do serious size, and longer timeframes (both of what AMT does, for example), but unless you want to move 50+ cars per click, the DAX is the finest choice indeed.
I could postpone that next car purchase and put in another 100 but you're right. I was just messing around. The max I've done so far is 10 ES and I was kinda worried when I did that. I feel comfortable doing up to 5-lots right now. -Fast
