i plateaued early on zero carb keto. The cals were simply too much or gluconeogenesis was an issue. Almost all people that fail to maintain ketosis are either being bullshitted about "net carbs" or are eating far too much protein (ratios or outright).

I was still losing weight but only about 5 pounds after nearly a month.

Most ppl eat in a 12hr window so a 36hr fast isn’t that difficult. The problem is social occasions and going out with family. It’s a weekday fast for a reason.

    Abstinence is easier than moderation.

  4. As it relates to addiction, sure. But food? Depending on how you fare, I may give it a try one of these days when (if) I'm feeling adventurous.

Open a bag of chips (that you like) and dump the recommended serving into a bowl. No way that you won't exceed (the reco serving and) your caloric goals if that shit is on the menu. I could eat a family-size bag of white cheddar Cheetos in a sitting. It's not something we buy as a result.

Maintaining a healthy weight is 90% diet. I workout a lot but it's not the answer for weight loss. Body comp? Sure.

The 5/2 fast is a mechanical 28% reduction in caloric intake provided that your diet is unchanged on the remaining five days. Ideal for me as I eat basically the same foods each day. The only caveat is that I travel so much which makes maintaining a 2K calorie limit difficult.

You're really lean already. I would only entertain it if you're after the longevity aspects (who isn't?); base-pair additions, etc. I'll update my weight each month. I do a 3-split workout with my youngest and am basically at maintenance on lifting, so the only impact should be LBM/fat loss. I will lose a bit of muscle so LBM may not improve.

I will say that the adrenaline will keep you up, so 1-2mg of melatonin is in order.
