The NYSE offers a non-documented exemption for a non-pro user with one ID and one account number. OPRA offers a similar exemptions but as far as I know NASDAQ does not. For OPRA, you also have to be a priority customer, not just non-pro subscriber. The problem is more complicated than that. You need a market data vendor willing to provide this and document it and most are not interested in a one-off offering.
I am confused. Before you suggested (by not mentioning it) that anyone is subject to non display fees who uses real time tick data for no display purposes. That sounds very different now. And why would a vendor not care given the large fee for non display. Clearly many vendors do care and prevent non professionals from being charged the fee. Could it be that it is just your firm that does not want to bother with the details? Not accusing, it's an honest question. I think it's highly misleading and disingenuous to use a blanket statement and suggest that all other firms who don't charge the fee to non professionals are in non compliance when perhaps the truth is that those firms did their homework and worked through the fine print.
Maybe call me one day. I've spent enough time off topic for the question at hand. "Fastest Market Data Vendor?"
It's directly related to the thread topic and you made it the topic in the first sentence of your first post here. It does matter at least apparently when doing business with your firm. I don't know about others but I prefer to do business with vendors who are transparent, why would your firm be appealing if upon asking you cannot or don't want to clarify here why your firm charges the non display fee when most other vendors don't. They are 100% not uncomplient. The exchanges literally surf every user's linkedin and Facebook pages in their attempt to upsell their feeds to whom they designate as professional. They would litigate any vendor who does not comply in a heartbeat.
CME specifically has an exemption: https://www.cmegroup.com/market-dat...-guidelines-and-non-display-licensing-faq.pdf Others talk about "organization" and I'm not an organization - so, by default, they don't apply to me. But I'm not about to try and figure out how to pay them more!
Can I connect to CME directly or there are some prerequisites for applicants? Also can it be done outside of the US?
