I have a 4 core CPU. During heavy optimization i've noticed TS uses only one core. It drives me nuts! The processing power is used only in about 23%.

Is there a way to employ all cores?
    Maybe Multicharts will be faster?
Any TS addons for genetic optimization?

    Your input is much appreciated!

  2. Apparently amibroker uses all cores and hyper threading.

  3. Permutations of variable values is not optimization. Non-linear system have many hidden modes.

  4. tradelink is free, open source, supports 15+ brokers, 4 asset classes and allows multi-core programming.

that said you should also be able to use the radar module in tradestation, which supports running indicator code on multiple cores.

thnx. i've found a solution. Multicharts employs all cores and is written in C++ unlike TS.

but even with free TS software and $1,000 computer, i'm producing far better results than 99.9% of $100M+ funds who only care about sales, rebates and markups, not performance ;-)

  6. Amibroker is much faster and more reliable than MC. MC is only good in faking competitor's results for advertising purposes.
