when i was a kid i thought i would like to join the military. the discipline, honor, training, ranking system, etc. was attractive to me. thank god i didn't.

i would have been misled into thinking that my government actually gave a crap about me. i would have been misled into thinking that i am fighting for a cause instead of for a politician. i would have been digging through trash dumps in iraq to find steel to protect my humvee.

if i ever wanted to move up through the ranks, it's politics as usual. to be a 3 star general you have to be rumsfeld's pet. to be a 2 star general you need to be the pet of the 3 star general who is the pet of rumsfeld. to be a 1 star general you need to be...and so on all the way down to the foot soldier level.

i would not have known that i have been so mislead until after i lost a limb and the military hospital won't pay my bills. i would not have known until i realized that i sacrificed everything for a medal.

An atom bomb is an EMP bomb. Rest assured that military equipment is hardened against EMP. Civilian equipment on the other hand...

  5. Yes this is the problem of those liberals, watching too much CNN. Fortunately, conservatives have the more reliable, and above all, the fair and balanced, FOX News !!!!!!!!!

My 2 cents on the whole subject ...

First off Bush and his cronies do not = america

There are some americans like myself that did not believe the 'trumped' up reasons for us to go to war with iraq.

As far as I can tell; Bush and his cronies and ALOT of american people wanted a war so they just picked the target they knew the best (and that they thought they could easily beat).

I have a friend that before the war started and when it started he would basically say to me "lets go kick some ass".
I really didnt understand that ...

Funny thing is now I dont hear him saying that.

I know what I see thou; the lies are uncovered; the war will cost in excess of 500 billion+, more lives will be spilt then 9/11. And our occupation of Iraq and Afganistan will produce more American hating muslims (terrorists). So we will have more terroists then before.

Ok so for all those people that dont think DPRK setting off a nuclear bomb is a big deal. I dont think you understand the impact this could have on the world.

#1 We definately dont want unstable heads of state with nuclear power.
#2 We definately dont want untrustworthy nations with nuclear power
#3 We dont want terrorists with nuclear power

  8. My point was, how on Earth could anyone believe the "opinion" of CNN as the reasoning for a nuclear weapons test in N Korea today.....most all media sources are sounding devices for the manipulation of the masses.

In regards to the US using the bomb on japan during WWII

This was taken from the history channel so I cant verify it as fact just reiterating it...

It was stated that one of the main reasons the 2 nuclear bombs were used is that the US wanted an unconditional surrender from japan. And japan did not want to do that (meaning it wasnt honerable - they wanted to do it another way (not sure how exactly).

Also Russia was moving in with millions of troops and we wantred to get japans surrender ourselves.

Let alone we wanted the world to see what power we had with the only country with nuclear capabilty

someone correct me if I'm wrong on this
