I think these are very simple stereotypical jokes.
If you put 15 liberal joke writers in a separate rooms most would come out with the these same jokes.

 

When I hear the word Maher what comes to mind is a female horse. It's like someone saying, "Bill the female horse gave $1 Million to Obama's campaign."
