3. You can smell it in your words.....like the other weak and compromised defeated apologists. Why are you all so damn scared to have America LEAD the world. Is there another group, government, or entity that you would prefer? What is your plans for those in the world that want to have their religion and beliefs reign upon all of mankind? Please do not tell me that the muslim world leaders and their terrorist cells want to co-exist with all in peace.... Have you ever studied Mohammed and the Koran from the muslim religion? Have you ever served in the military of a democratic country and witnessed the enemy first hand. Their hatred is only breed of evil, and their mission is not of the free. Americans are VERY different from those who destroyed the Twin Towers! American citizens did not plot and kill innocent muslims in the morning of a new day with cowardly attacks. American citizens did not do such actions against Muslims, because they are a moral people for the most part. The terrorists we speak of are not moral at all, and as a result they have no remorse for the actions they plan. They DO NOT HAVE ANY MORAL GUIDANCE in their terrorist activities. All their plans and actions are of men...no God! The terrorist's use the Middle Eastern people as whores in their manipulated business of evil. In the terrorist's conquest for power and influence they crave the destruction of all things that represent a chance for human beings to be of free will. The thought of a country such as ours that would promote the free thinking of a man is in direct conflict to their autocratic structures of fear based manipulation. America and all other free countries of the world should be so honored, as to be set in history with the responsibility to destroy those who are WRONG! All of mans history is filled with the test of the good to do that which is necessary, and it is the failure to carry out this responsibility that will bring free people the face of horror!

  4. AMT, alot of what you say makes sense, but why is attacking & occupying Iraq our best option in fighting Islamic terrorism?

Saddam was an asshole, but a secular asshole. Invading Afghanistan made perfect sense because of the direct connection to 9/11.

Iraq? Looks more like a Bush family vendetta against Saddam...

  5. We have to have an actually footprint in the backyard of the Middle East to start on this long and treacherous road to seed democracy in the region. Also, there was no other way to free the people of Iraq from saddam in such a swift and decisive manor. The action in Iraq was one of the most necessary strategic moves required to initiate a "statement" to the leadership of the Middle East. Now between Iran and Syria and in direct defensive positions for the bulk of the free worlds oil, the U.S. will start the necessary aggressive geopolitical activities to send notice to the players in the region that the game has now changed. It is only through swift military action in Iraq that now gives the U.S. the upperhand, in which to seek responsive and active dialog to move forward solutions for the problems of the Middle East.

I will go over this more later tonight when I get to work (I have direct Middle East experience) ...sometime after 20:30 CST.

    TTYL!

  6. You can spout opinion and moral indignation all you wish. It has little to do with being "right."

Throughout history people "felt" they were right and that God was on their side.

If only this country were as morally superior as you claim, we would not have many of the problems that besiege us.

  7. We as Americans do not own our morality and we are not superior to others in the area of morality. What we are though is "right" at this time in regards to terrorism. We choose to practice morality and the terrorists do not, thus we are "right" in our actions and they are "wrong".....period! The terrorists are not following any plausible moral guidance in their actions and thus they are not of moral directives.

  8. It is still a matter of perspective. You sit in America and naturally have opinions on those who attacked the USA, I share the opinion that those who attacked the USA on 911 need to be brought to justice, through the proper methods of expensing justice in a civilized world.

Clearly, the world as a whole supported our efforts in Afghanistan to try and find the Taliban leadership who instigated the attack against us. Never has America been in a position to have such sympathy and support of the world. Republicans and Democrats across the board supported that effort.

Then suddenly, we go from that position, where nearly everyone is supporting a war on terrorism, to making a leap that we must rid the world of the Axis of Evil beginning with Saddam.

The rest of the world took a different view of our actions after that, and while you may not agree with their point of view, you stand on no absolute unequivocal moral ground to say that we were right to strike pre-emptively. You may feel it is so, but that doesn't make it so.

Were we a small poor country like Guatemala who had been attacked the way we were on 911, do you really think we would have stood up to the USA, CHINA, USSR, France and the United Nations if they had been opposed etc. and gone ahead with our war against Saddam because we stood on moral ground?

We acted because we had the power to do so, not because it was right to do so. We took little risk in the process, and to this point it seems that the little risk we took has an equal proportion of reward.

We need to act on the basis of what is right, not just morally, but logically, reasonably, and in concert with the majority of our allies. When we get on a high moral horse without satisfying the requirements of anything beyond moral indignation or a sense of moral self righteousness, we likely will land on our ass as we fall off our saddle.
