I downloaded IB's TwsDde.xls file from their website, and I've been able to connect the file to my existing IB account login and successfully get live quote data. However, I want to connect the .xls file to IB's edemo account so that I can run some simulated transactions. Unfortunately, when I start up the edemo from IB's website and then change the user name field on the TwsDde.xls file to "edemo", I get a popup window with the error message "Remote data not accessible. Start application EDEMO.EXE?" Regardless of whether I click on "Yes" or "No", every quote data field shows "#REF!". What am I doing wrong? Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!
You probably forgot to check the "DDE" radio button in the TWS demo setup menu. Close and re-load the spreadsheet after you've done that. Elvis
