it is about creating an alternative trade settlement regime, you can feel it from the trade data.

This is kind of like saying more sales will occur outside of a department store, like at Amazon. And what did this do to department stores?

Marcy’s went bankrupt? BBBY recently? JC Penny?

What happened to the store credit cards?

No Macy's didn't. Never heard of Marcy's or care.

But what's it got to do with the U.S. Dollar.

Meanwhile Rouble is Ruble, heading for extinction.

Ukrainian Hryvnia might be what Rooskies will use next.

Sorry, Mervyn’s store in Calif, no one wanted them, no white knight, put them under. Some locations ended up with target soon after. shorting retailers soon via puts.

More than 10 years ago Mervyn's closed. U.S. retailers come and go all the time ......... my whole life.

Still nothing to do with U.S. Dollar trade status.

The initial thought is that if all shoppings are done outside of the department stores, what would happen to department stores, that's the proposition by @NoahA . tehy went under.

Can you connect the dots? US being the department stores here.

Noah was making a point about the U.S. Dollar. Not shopping.

Dots you connect are in a whole other direction. Again you talk about what you want to talk about, not the current topic.

Just like you rave about the Soviets (that's what PooPoo is after all) yet take advantage of Western Capitalism.

    Contradiction much.

The point is the USD is the deparment store credit, if less folks are shooping in the store, one profit center i.e., the interest charge, would be missed.

The same goods , e.g. oil, are available on Amazon, i.e. outside of G7,

US economy most productive because it has unfair advantage of US government printing with impunity
So only US economy benefits but whole world pays.

    Evewrbody is totally fed up

There is frantic work behind the scene to move world trade from dollar and shield economies from random sanctions US imposes using US$ avantage

Obviously it's not a fantasy as survival of major economic players depends on it. So you can safely bet on US$ status decrease in the next years
