Live the earnest little toady tones in this one.

The wife started watching the Man in the High Castle, maybe we are in it.

No. I like working within the system as it was designed. Within the context of modern history SCOTUS has worked with 9 Justices. The only time a President tried to change that, it was met with a resounding NO from both parties, as it should have been.

Going full Taliban is what the fringe left is trying to achieve, killing, destroying everything that opposes them.

Mmmm... 9 was not "designed". The way things are going with Trump assassinating citizens for political capital 'retribution' he calls is, (hopefully there will be an investigation into the case, several should get the needle for premeditated conspiracy to murder) he may try and open another couple of SC slots.

The balance of lethal violence is very red on the side of the right.

Its simple, you guys want a ruler. The smart move European countries made when democratising was to recognise this facet of Conservatives, they are subjects not citizens at heart and kept their monarchy in a token manner.

US Conservatives are trying to make a president King. Not making choices and feeling things won't change for a long time is the happy place. Can't fight evolutionary behavior programming.

The system as designed allows for expanding the court

Read some history, SCOTUS has to be at least 5 but other than that Congress decides. That being said every time the court was packed or trimmed (and there were several times throughout its early history) each was done as a political maneuver. 1869 trimmed the court back from 10 to 9 (10 being the latest political stunt by Lincoln in 1863) and it’s been that way since, 150+ years.

@Bugenhagen, most conservatives are not enamored with Trump, but they do like the direction he has taken the country.
