  1. otherwise, a nice night here in Indiana, a lot of thunder, too bad for people that had plans for Memorial Day weekend, but good to know that God still cares about us. Now it is raining, so that just saves me the effort of watering my plants tomorrow.

and I mean it is really thundering out there

    sounds like world war 3

US style commercialism has spread around the world over the last 50 years. I suppose all things come to an end but it's ironic it should happen this way. No doubt it will be replaced by something much worse as countries get ever more desperate to survive. Mighty events quite often turn on something quite trivial. Remember that poem which went something like " for the want of a horse the battle was lost " ?
    First Clinton, then Bush...............

  7. I can imagine our situation is upsetting to some, this is for sure. But, as another poster put it, just what, exactly, is anyone going to do about it?

Your US Govt. better get a grip on the situation BEFORE the dollar becomes worthless.

And stop acting like a spineless jelly in spending cuts.
This is where democracy has it's greatest weakness imho. The pollies can't make unpopular but necessary decisions.

Sorry to be so blunt and rude about it but the seriousness of the situation calls for harsh words and action.

I wish I could say I have some confidence that things will soon be sorted but I haven't. Did not Samson pull down the temple upon himself ?

  9. Green River Shale Oil is worth $60 trillion with $30 trillion recoverable with current technology, sometimes we overlook we do have assets along with liabilities. The elite who govern us don't tend to look at commodities as "wealth", they tend to view paper assets as the true measure.Bill
