Exactly. But GWB will tell you this is mis-information, right?

  2. See even you said it....the vaccine can be effective at stopping severe illness because a vaccine like this is an immunity booster. It is not a shield against catching Covid or 100% protection. That is the bullshit both trumps team and then dems pushed repeatedly which clouded the message.

A flu shot does not guarantee you will not get the flu...it boosts your immune system so if you catch it you might not get sick at all or have a much milder case. The more people get the shot the more people can reduce transmission... but no one says you cannot get the flu with a flu shot 100%.

The media and politicians and crack doctors on both sides got it wrong and created a shit..even the medical.community had people on both sodes saying shit that was clearly wrong.

We know about the quacks spreading shit about covid and the vax but the other side said the shit in that meme also... nothing to do with variants.

Yet your ignore the basic fact -- prior to Omicron showing up the Covid vaccine was 6 times more effective than the measles vaccine in stopping infection and transmission of the disease in an environment where the disease was highly prevalent. This may make the Covid vaccine the most successful vaccine in the history of mankind in terms of stopping the infection of a highly infectious disease (such as measles and Covid with high R factors). This only changed when the vaccine evasive Omicron variant appeared -- and we should note the bivalent booster is more effective at stopping Omicron infection than the previous Covid vaccines (as outlined with studies in the Latest Vaccine News thread).

the flu vaccine won't protect you against smallpox. Hyperbole I know, but virus A can evolve indistinguishably from virus B. Luckily, the variants remain close enough to gain immunity vs severe illness.

  5. You see...you keep doing it....

A vaccine being effective doing its job is not the same thing as saying if you are vaccinated you cant get covid... one has nothing to do with the other...

The group of experts who were politically motivated exaggerated the claims about the vaccine to get on tv and feed a narrative.

It would have been easy to say the vaccine will boost your immune system reaction to.a new virus (measels is not new) and is recommended to reduce the severity and duration and provide greater protection.

To make claims that the virus will ensure you dont get it set of bullshit alarms. Thus when leading mouth pieces who are vaxxed got covid it destroyed their credibility. When people on their 3rd booater got Covid it destroyed the message. When people on vaxxed cruise ships jad a few cases it fed the anti narrative...

Then all those people with doubts who live on social media.start hearing from the quacks and the battle creates a huge misinformation swamp that leads to faster spread and lack of.coordinated responses you saw in Asia.for example.

You are taking the fact the initial.experts exaggerated the message to get tv time as a statement that the vax served no purpose. Vax serves a purpose like flu shot and shingles vaccine and more so for a global pandemic. But.dont start off by pissing on me and tell me its raining haha.... a vaccine for.a.novel.virus is never a 100% shield...it is an immunity boost.

  6. Not sure I understand your point....everyone who tried to lie and say that if you are vaccinated you wont get Covid were full of shit.

everyone i know who got covid were vaxxed but had mild reactions. A few who were not vaxxed had a bad day or two. One family member who was not vaxxed was knocked out for a whole week.

The common theme was the vax boosted the immune defenses so those that got it had milder reaction. That was the message to be given..instead we got social media doctors repeating whatever bullshit they read incliding the media.

Additionally, no one lost their jobs or livelihood if they didn't take the flu vaccine. Or penalized. Or quarantined. Or not allowed into a country.

These leaders in the meme were making statements properly aligned with what the science and studies were clearly demonstrating in 2021. At the time the Covid vaccine was both very effective at stopping severe illness and infection. Unfortunately coronaviruses evolve quickly, and Omicron arrived in late 2021 which was vaccine evasive. Prior that the Covid vaccines did an effective job at both stopping severe illness and infection.

There is no vaccine on the face of the earth which is 100% effective in either stopping severe illness or preventing infection in an environment with high prevalence of a disease. From Day 1, when the Covid vaccines were released there were associated efficacy figures provided typically ranging from 70% to 92% showing this. Where do you get the narrative that experts were trying to claim the Covid vaccine is 100% effective -- especially noting your meme takes just a few words out of context for each. And by the way the authenticity of several of the quotes are in doubt.

Trying to claim these experts were exaggerating at the time the statements were made is pure bunk. Even sadder to note these statements were being publicly made to counter fabricated claims from demented anti-vaxxers that the Covid vaccines were killing thousands of people and were not effective at all. Are you trying to claim that the statements from these experts are a parallel in "exaggeration" to the absurd claims from demented anti-vaxxers?

Your meme is nonsense pushed by anti-vaxxers all over social media and blogs. You pushing it on ET is just parroting their narrative. Do you also support all the other nonsense pushed by the anti-vax Covid-deniers? Are you taking your Ivermectin? Keep in mind the misinformation pushed by these clowns caused the deaths of over 230,000 Americans.

I will note that typically when these mouthpieces got Covid it was when Omicron became prevalent. It in no way detracts from their credibility for statements made in 2021.

Unfortunately the Omicron variant evolved which proved to be vaccine evasive in regards to infection but fortunately Covid vaccination is still effective in stopping severe illness.

My point is some illnesses don't escape vaccine immunity that rapidly so saying "if you get the polio vaccine, you won't get polio" isn't exactly a bad faith argument. At the time those statements were made, they were true statistically for those variants. Everyone knows no vaccine is 100% effective but if it's 99% effective, are you just splitting hairs? 95%? 80%? The bad hedge was in assuming a corona respiratory virus (like the cold) would remain unevolved but I can see the value of telling assurances w/some conviction if it gets needles in people's arms during an emergency.
