I am saying that you need to carefully read up on and understand Base Rate Fallacy before pushing Covid misinformation points from random political pundits on Twitter.

Ok, so you agree with the data coming out of Oklahoma, then?

85 of 122 Covid hospital admissions of all ages logged May 8-14 were fully vaccinated. That's 69.7%.

I guess the fact check is true, then.

Let's see the latest nonsense being pushed by anti-vax Covid-deniers -- who are trying to tie monkeypox to Covid vaccines.

Fact Check-Chimpanzee adenovirus vector in the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine does not cause monkeypox
    https://www.reuters.com/article/factcheck-health-monkeypox-idUSL2N2XG0W1

False claims that the outbreak of monkeypox was caused by using a chimpanzee adenovirus vector in the Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine have been gaining traction online.

One person on Twitter, a British MP, wrote on May 20: “Who is surprised that after millions of people have been injected with genetically modified chimp virus, there is now an outbreak of monkeypox?” (here). His post has since received 2,000 retweets and has been liked 6,000 times.

The same suggestion has also been echoed elsewhere on Twitter, as well as Facebook, with users highlighting a list of ingredients making up the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine (here , here , here , here and here).

While it is true that the AstraZeneca vaccine uses a chimpanzee adenovirus vector in its formula (see the ingredients list here), it is not connected to monkeypox. Monkeypox is caused by the monkeypox virus, according to the World Health Organization (bit.ly/3GbnOuD).

“It is wholly different from Monkeypox and there is no possibility whatsoever that the two are linked,” said Ian Jones, professor of virology at the University of Reading.

He told Reuters via email: “The virus used in the AZ vaccine is an adenovirus that has been mutated to prevent it (from) growing in human cells.“

Since there is little if any immunity to it among humans, it can be used as a vaccine, or vaccine vector, he said. “All the vector does is carry the vaccine component into human cells, it does not establish any sort of infection itself.”

Jones’ words were echoed by experts at Meedan Health Desk, a group of public health scientists working to tackle medical misinformation online, who told Reuters: “Scientists use a chimpanzee adenovirus as a vector - a way to get instructions for making virus-fighting antigens into the body.” (here).

Meedan added: “It should be noted that chimpanzees are not monkeys.”

Chimpanzees are from a group of primates known as great apes, see here.

Additionally monkeypox is not a symptom of 'vaccine aquired AIDS'. Where do these demented anti-vaxxer Covid-denier idiots get this stuff.

Monkeypox disease in humans has been here since 1970...that's 52 years. Yet it was discovered in animals about 2 decades earlier.

More important news today, is another mass shooting...children targeted/dead...killed by another teenager with access to guns.

Who is "us"? All I see is a petty man who can't answer a question, but tries to redirect every argument. But I do appreciate the Fact Checker confirming the tweet was true (because he cannot say it is not).

You still cannot explain base rate fallacy, eh. Nor do you understand why the stats from Oklahoma are meaningless in demonstrating anything about a comparison of the Covid hospitalization rates among the unvaccinated and vaccinated.

You always respond to a simple question with another question. So I'm certainly not going to reward you with answering your question if you can't answer my, first proposed one.

Is the data from the State of Oklahoma correct? Or false?

Health Canada just updated their COVID dashboard.
99.96% of the COVID deaths in the last 1 week period were Vaccinated.
    70% BOOSTED

base rate fallacy doesn’t apply here or in Oklahoma…

The only failure here is the vaccine. Who’s side effect profile and efficacy make it a complete and utter disaster. But go get your 5th shot in 18 months, retards!

It's amusing to see this claim about the Health Canada Covid dashboard showing high Covid deaths among the vaccinated in the prior week constantly re-appearing. Of course, if you actually go to the Health Canada dashboard the exact opposite is demonstrated and the supposed data is nowhere to be found. Here is the dashboard link -- go look for yourself.
