    So what?

Everyone doesn't have to agree with you as to what is, or isn't important enough to speak out about.

Either the publishers agree, or not. The decision is still, and was, and will be, the publisher's to make--not the "mobs." And not yours.

YouTube announced a crackdown on anti-vaccine content, but 2 people from the 'Disinformation Dozen' are still on the platform

    • YouTube banned misinformation related to any vaccines on Wednesday.
    • Kelly Brogan and Christiane Northrup, members of the "Disinformation Dozen," still have channels.
    • YouTube told Insider that it was looking into Brogan and Northrup's channels.
At least two people identified by a misinformation watchdog nonprofit as being superspreaders of COVID-19 vaccine misinformation still have YouTube channels, despite YouTube's announcement on Wednesday that it was cracking down on the spread of medical misinformation.

The Google-owned platform announced expanded guidelines in a blog post on Wednesday morning. In addition to targeting vaccine misinformation related to COVID-19 vaccines, the post states, the platform will now remove content that makes false claims about any vaccine shots.

YouTube terminated the channels of four anti-vaccine activists, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Joseph Mercola, Sherri Tenpenny, and Erin Elizabeth, a spokesperson told Insider, in line with the new policy.

Those four people were identified by the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) as part of the "Disinformation Dozen," a group of 12 prominent anti-vaxxers who "play leading roles" in spreading vaccine misinformation online, the British organization wrote in a report earlier this year.

YouTube has previously removed the channels of other "Disinformation Dozen" members, including the physician Rashid Buttar and the alternative medicine proponents Ty and Charlene Bollinger, the spokesperson told Insider.

As of Wednesday afternoon, channels for Kelly Brogan, an author of books on alternative medicine and the wife of prominent anti-vaccine activist Sayer Ji, and Christiane Northrup, a physician known for her embrace of anti-vaccine rhetoric, were still live on YouTube.

Insider did not identify anti-vaccine misinformation in available videos on the creators' channels, but both channels link to the creators' personal websites, which contain vaccine misinformation. Claims shared on Brogan's and Northrup's blog posts have been invalidated by numerous scientific studies.

Brogan's YouTube channel has over 23,000 subscribers and 1.3 million views, while Northrup's account has almost 73,000 subscribers and over 2.8 million views.

When reached for comment on Wednesday afternoon, a YouTube spokesperson said the company was looking into Brogan's and Northrup's channels.

President Joe Biden appeared to reference the CCDH's "Disinformation Dozen" in July while clarifying a comment he had previously made accusing social media websites like Facebook of "killing people" by not doing enough to combat COVID-19 vaccine misinformation.

"Facebook isn't killing people, these 12 people are out there giving misinformation," Biden told members of the press after speaking about the country's economic recovery. "Anyone listening to it is getting hurt by it. It's killing people. It's bad information."

Brogan and Northrup did not respond to requests for comment.

    Once again,

Lawful protest is not equivalent to unlawful threats.

Again, hold individuals responsible for the crimes they commit; do not label a whole group of citizens as a criminal mob due the actions of individuals. That's not how it works in the US. That IS how it works in North Korea, China, and Russia.

It's a really simple concept. You just seem hellbent on using individual clowns to wholesale vilify lawful protestors because they don't think like you do. You think this goes unnoticed. You're wrong.

You should explain this to the online Dr. Seuss Cancel Mob that threats are not allowed. This includes threatening a person's job, threatening a business, and many of the other activities they proudly partook in

Point out which ones are making the threats. Or do you want me to do like you, and just conclude all protestors are making unlawful threats?

What part of American jurisprudence do you not understand?

If you're law enforcement, get out of your computer chair and investigate. Find those guilty of making threats against Dr. Seuss folks, and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.

People have been making threats against others since the beginning of civilization, and even beyond. Rather than whine about it; you should convince all those Dr. Seuss "victims" to file police reports, and contact their representatives, so that the proper criminals can be identified and thrown in the slammer.

It's real lazy and unethical and silly to paint every protestor as a criminal. Their real crime? Disagreeing with @gwb-trading

I can say that Facebook are officially on my shit list.

FB are absolutely promoting content over lives and allowing antivax nutters to join hundreds or more medical condition sufferer groups.

Their system is perfectly capable of sniffing the accounts but they don't get to them quickly.

They then leave it up to group mods to firefight but of course penalise the groups for any complaints that reach them rather than just banning obviously fake accounts.

I'm not sure yet but I think they have removed "joined" for FB non-group admins in order to make it even harder to determine who is a legit member suffering from a malady but a victim of misinformation, from a fake account.

Of course normal group members who are not savvy to the scam are baited into reacting. Its time for war powers to be used to take direct control over FB and goddam make them put real effort into this crazy death cult.

  8. FB is a social media platform to connect with friends and family... eveyrthing else posted is catered to your google searches for ads or posts or what media FB wants put on your feed. You all need to stop using FB as a measure of what is news or relevant or ntoeworthy since it is moderated content. FB was never meant to be a moderated content provider, just a social network to connect and chat and share pictures. The rest is a way for FB to monetize a free site.

Much the developing (and some developed
) world users think the Internet IS Facebook as they get FB data free from the mobile company.

Facebook has been architected to be similar to gambling machines. It will hook a percentage with a very real and physical addiction. As such, it needs regulation by outside bodies.

Describing it as just a family and friends platform is off the mark at this stage.

This is typical of mobile phone packages in the world now. Monopoly deals by the big players.

  10. my point is what it was original for and the only thing it serves as good for is family and friends.... but it has become a social media platform which people rely on for their news, information, research and political diarrhea. That encapsulates the problem on any political or social issue... the FB lawyers and FB doctors and FB political hacks have taken over real information.
