If you had a job that required you to flog yourself every day, for 8 hours a day, for how long would you stay in it? You have the option to QUIT the job. And the chubby guy in the vid said he is in Clearwater. That's in Florida, and Yellow Cab is always hiring. You can earn, in normal times, $200 in cash after expenses each day, depending on how long you lease the cab for and what hours you choose to work. The beaches up and down the Pinellas and Hillsborough county shore, the two major airports there, the nightlife/clubbers who get drunk and need the ride home, and tip you huge because they are so damned drunk...Man, I almost miss that job.
Zuckerberg said "Their overreacting"! Business Insider "The Guardian, including footage of a woman being stoned to death, people being tortured with molten metal, and dogs being cooked alive, as well as a video set to a musical soundtrack that "collaged" people dying in" 1999 BI.
Isn't that what they eventually did, Quit? They need to get hire psychos to filter out that kind of stuff, people who get off on those kind of videos. People who would enjoy that job on the daily. But thats never going to be official policy either, as what kind of company would admit to hiring that kind of person.
The point is...They stayed in the job for so long that they feel they have suffered from PTSD. Remember what they said? They kept seeing the same thing over and over again. For how many times do you suffer through a thing before you finally call it quits? It is like people who cannot stand an offensive orator. They whine about having to hear offensive shit. Well, just turn off the offensive shit, and stop being offended. We have people here who fail at doing that. They cannot tune out the offensive stuff, so they put people on ignore. Out-of-sight, out-of-mind?
Let me rephrase my question, if you had to watch child porn for an hour, after which point you quit, would it have no impact on you? PTSD is insidious shit. Guys especially are often brought up with the tough guy mentality so they'll tough it out because...well look no further than the ignorant comments here to see what kind of ridicule they'd get for being a quitter on such an easy job, right? So they sit through it for a month or two until they can't take it any more, and that causes PTSD in lots of people. That's just scientific fact at this point.
We all have a little PTSD in us, we really do. Think back through your life (if the person is old enough), and you will find something that caused you a ton of pain, most likely because it was against your will. But you got through it anyway. These people have a choice to get out of it. Their souls are suffering while sitting behind a computer screen, at a desk, by their own choice. They have the CHOICE to get out of it before it becomes trauma. No?
No! By the time you realize the PTSD level trauma happened it's too late and you're basically already messed up. That's my point, and I've seen some pretty damn tough dudes completely screwed up by it. Like I said, it's insidious stuff that our culture pushes people into denying until it's too late. And if you've ever seen someone you know impacted by PTSD it's not something we all have in us, any more than comparing clinical depression to the occasional depression we all ocassionally feel. BTW, I can't help but notice my question remains unanswered? Some things fuck you up without requiring extensive exposure, even if only seen on screen.
