  2. lol, so true.

It was noted on various threads regarding the amount of FB shares available to be sold to the public (read: suckers).

The "existing stockholders" (read: insiders), including Bono, got the shares at an average price per share of $1.11 (see prospectus, page 41).

The prospectus (page 155) also states that the following amount of shares are eligible for sale by insiders after various "lock ups":

91 days after date of prospecuts: 271 million
    180 days...137 million
    181 days...1.1 BILLION (yes, with a "B")
    211 days...149 million
    366 days...47 million

If the earnings can't justify a high multiple (which apparently it can't based on its first public report), then the only way these shares will be absorbed by the market is at a LOWER price.

FB is just a trading vehicle, and currently the bias is down.

  3. Which come first?

    Chicken or egg?

Funds dumping or shorts covering on Fri?

So far investors are not happy with the so call "growth" stocks guidance. In the current uncertain world, the future is more important than the past. They are getting defensive to ride against the upcoming storms. Walmart and Costco recent price action is a telling sign.

  4. it all just makes so much sense in hindsight.. haha i had my suspicions they would miss.. but i keep going with the idea that i can't predict the future .. so i went for a wide butterfly.. if it jumps due to closing options trades tommorrow i'm going to be probably break even or good.. i'm on this butterfly kick.. i'm going to combine it with deep otm trades as well.. no one can predict the unpredictable.. how ever would one know which 5 cent otm option will turn into a 30 dollar itm option? how many .05 cent options can you buy and still make sense of one rare event? tons.. bleed slow ... don't ever believe you can absolutely know whats going to happen.. game yourself.. i love how the new tech stocks are a model of how to sell to the public the hopes and dreams of being rich.. it sure is a gamble this life... i say bet with the syndicates, bet with the government, and bet against the end of the word .. cause it only happens once!

  6. Well...some times you have to gamble if you want to make the big bucks just like poker and hope that the market don't call your bluff. Even the "pros" got lucky. If luck is on my side, I don't care if I'm an idiot.

There's telling signs/indicators such as investor's reaction to other tech earnings, earning miss/beat rate so far, PA (tricky), level of expectation/hype etc...But at the end of the day, it doesn't matter what you know or don't know, you still need the cojones to place that bet.

I was not talking about myself. I was just saying an expression. Tomorrow lots of hands will be cut because they will try to the catch the falling knife. Today I sold 5 naked Call 26 and 5 naked Call 27 expiring tomorrow. I also have 5 naked Call 26 for August 17. All will (should) expire worthless. :)

  8. Back on June 6th I opened a few FB August 30/31/20/19 Iron Condors, when FB was at 26.
Been sweating and wiping my brow ever since.
Kind of a dumb trade, with no chart history to guide me, but it was fun being part of the hype and IPO, etc.
So will the stock stay between 20 and 30 through August 17th?
    Who the hell knows!
    :D

I believe it will stay in that range with 80% certainty. Things that might pop FB for a few days are baseless rumors or upgraed by crooked or dumb analysts. Some news that might pop FB are:
    Walmart is buying FB !!
FB is coming with its own cellphone!!
Upgrade by an anaylist with price target of $100!!

Remember even YHOO forgave the patent lawsuit after they realized that FB is losing money and there is no profit !!

  10. Hajimow,

You have a vivid imagination. It's amazing how much you to direct price instead of just following it.
