after poking around a bit, i found some others. a few have the 1600x1200 res option. This one has a little video demo (didn't watch it tho). as for DisplayLink specifically, you can go to their products page and click the 'where to buy' link and it should take you to an online seller. it looks more like a vendor hub than actual Display Link branded products. dunno. and they do have a multi-monitor usb solution as well. and if you wanna get tricky, go wireless. didn't check the resolution, but just dig the idea of wireless multi-monitor connectivity. you know, finding stuff you didn't know you needed until you stumble across it
FYI, I went with the lower cost option to test out. I bought the EVGA USB adapter. http://www.evga.com/products/pdf/100-U2-UV16-A1.pdf I hooked it up today and it seems to suit my purpose just fine. Thanks for the suggestions.
Jumper that looks pretty interesting. After you use it for a while post on how it well it works. I would be interested to learn your thoughts after it has been used a while. It looks inexpensive too!
