it depends. if you have a part time job they will not let you sign on unless it is less that about £180 a month. in which case for every £1 you earn they subtract it from your benefit payment. it is not a good incentive for people with low benefit to work part time. (the £180 assumes minimum jsa). the employment figures are misleading look at incapacity. they urge people to go onto it to make the unemployment figures seem less bad.
