  1. I can understand some of what you guys are saying (our focus on NYSE vs. Naz and our "breaking people" from too much chart usage), but to say that what we teach is at all the same as the "hucksters" out there is a bit of a stretch.

I've been pretty mellow with the naysaying, and haven't really gone to too much effort to attempt to defend what we do, and I think I understand where some may be coming from. The PM and emails supporting what we do are nice, but I would simply like to toss a few things back.

We do have a great success rate with our people, my brother and I spend countless hours helping traders both in and out of the office, and do as much as we can to salvage "bad traders" and bring them into profitability.

We don't need to work 60+ hours per week, but we love what we do, and our success (in part) is due to the fact that we run a solid, straight forward business. We may not be able to please everyone (who can?), but the vast majority are on our side.

Let's try to keep things in perspective here. I don't claim to be an "expert" in all things, but we probably have more experience in stocks, options, and futures than most people, and deliver our messages honestly. Many firms have come and gone because of bad business practices and violations, and yet we continue to grow. Our new people receive the very best we can offer, both from the firm and other successful traders.

To some the "glass is always half full" and there is nothing I, or anyone, can do about that.

    Peace....

    Don

I went to Don's training in Las Vegas, twice actually. I found his good natured way of handling even the most difficult of questions to be refreshing and informative. His brother can be a bit short at times, but is definitely a super sharp trader. They allowed us to see what they were doing, even when I returned to their office after the classes. The traders in the room seem to have a great respect for both Brights. I am currently studying for my Series 7 and hope to join them soon, and begin trading. Most of my classmates were all over Don and Bob during our breakfast meetings. I think they do a great job...and I am in no way related to them.

Not a lot of effort? You reply to almost every single post that says something negative about Bright Trading.

You obviously feel a need to defend yourself and your company? Why?

Why not just let the people who are trying to decide call you and ask the questions?

Shoot, someone would think you sponsor this forum with advertising fees....oh, wait, you do that already.

Is this a forum for the Traders sharing their experiences and opinions in their trading life, or is this a forum for Don to push Bright Trading?

You have been "mellow" with the naysaying? No, you have been trying to "handle" it like a salesman handles objections. Inside, my guess is you are seething.

Just another con from a sales professional. Never trust a salesman to tell you the truth or the whole story, never.

  4. for one thing, ive seen Don Bright.. and why anyone would want to see Don exposed :)::shudder:::) is beyond me.. but to each his own..

and no, this is a forum where small people with nothing to lose conceal their identity and attack others who try to add value to the board by sharing their experiences.. Don doenst get attacked because he is with Bright trading.. he gets attacked because people see him as an easy target.. many of the better contributors to this board rarely if ever post anymore for this very reason.. Don just has thicker skin than most..

    just my opinion..

  5. Don,

Do you "really" not understand what people are saying?? (I think you understand and are avoiding the issue). First of all -- the method that you guys use to trade listed stocks is pretty good! But as you know, very little is said about your techniques at the "seminar." The things that are discussed are so basic that an experienced trader can barely keep his eyes open (I know!! I was there).

Even in your response you talk about the success rate of "OUR PEOPLE." Ponder that for a second, will you. "Your people" -- I don't really care about the success rate of your people. I went to the seminar to learn a little more about trading the listeds (as I mentioned before, I am quite successful at trading the NASDAQ -- not bragging, merely stating a fact).

I would like to see you admit that your "training" is just a very costly sales pitch. You certainly were not very up front w/ me on the phone prior to the "training."

  6. To give others an idea of the caliber of trader Don's "course" is geared to:

Their office manager gave a little talk during the seminar and to quote from him, "Trading is a great living. I mean what else are you going to do?? -- work at McDonald's?"

At that point in the "seminar" I just thought to myself, "What the hell am I doing here w/ these morons?? Why aren't I at least at Crazy Horse enjoying a cold beer and some t & A??"

--- work at McDonald's??? I had previously been under the impression that there might be a handful of at least "semi-educated" attendees and presenters there. My hopes were dashed fairly quickly upon arrival!

  7. Mr. Greendog....I am sincerely sorry that we didn't meet your expectations here at our basic course. Every class is a bit different, and we have to accomodate the most people possible....and with hundreds having gone through here, very happy, many nice things to say (including ex Specialists and MM's), that we have tried to please as many as we can. Try to take the OO's, the "trade throughs", the MOC's and the tape reading examples with you with our blessing...and I would love to welcome you to speak on our Radio show or to a class to share with us your techniques on trading the Nasdaq....we all like to learn from those actually making money in our profession....and in case you think I don't mean, I really do...I am planning on having many more successful people share their experiences....even I can admit that people will get tired of hearing from Bob and I all the time...:)

  8. I think maybe Don got his training working in the complaint department at J.C. Pennys.

  9. I understand... now. But if you'd told me that your "course" was geared to the LCD (least common denominator) upfront, I wouldn't have wasted so much time!

I love the irony though: A snake-oil salesman promoting a "Beyond the Snake-Oil Tour!" LOL

None of my posts were meant as a personal attack -- and I hope you didn't take them as such. Actually, you guys were fun to talk to at the seminar -- but if I'm going to spend $1,000 to spend a week with someone, I want to either:

    a) learn something or
    b) (refer to Crazy Horse post)

  10. Could I be wrong about Don's relentless sales pitching and self promotion? Am I too harsh on Don? I know for some it is difficult to judge people based on the outside, without knowing what is truly happening on the inside.......

So here is a peek under the skin......
