  2. its been super quiet all month, still waiting for holidays?
    People are ALREADY on holidays.

    this is not even a slow month, if you compare it to previous years month on month, the liquidity is simply atrocious.

  3. If not for this pesky recession, which is virtually over for large-cap companies, we would be at 1900 now (look at a 10-year chart). There is a whole lot of catching up to do. I suspect we'll see 1120 today and 1130 tomorrow, and 1250 sometime in January.

    As a trader I'm sure you realized that those factors you mentioned can be, and often are, ignored by the market on a day to day --short term-- basis. In other words one would not want to trade short term based on how one expected the market to react to various economic events. One would not want to assume the "efficient market model" holds true in all time frames, and trade accordingly. That would result in a quick trip to the poorhouse.
