  1. Spyder,

How much was costco asking for the HP 30?
The dell 30" is approximately $1,250 if you talk them into the 15% discount.

    Thank you,

  2. Actually the Dell Sharp underperforms the 305T and comes highly un-configured (which actually requires professional tools to get it to visually run the way it is supposed to). Thinking I"ll go with the 305T unless I can get the deal I want on the Dell model. Ya hwkaiser, got to pick up a new video card myself that supports 2560x1600 res as well as a few other requirements. Thanks for the input guys, good stuff. If anyone has any other info, fill me in!

  3. As have I. Two years running on the twin 24's and not a pixel out of place.

I apologize. I never checked the Price.

The Acer 26" is the best bang for buck at the moment, really nice display too

Not sure what "professional tools" you are referring to. There is no shortage of freeware and shareware apps to help optimize monitor performance, set color temp, and so on.

BTW, you realize that switching from your current 6 22"s to 1 30" would reduce your total screen area by over 60%? 10,584,000 vs. 4,096,000 pixels. Unless you plan to keep both setups.

  6. What a set-up that would be, 30" centered, 2 pr 22" orientated portrait left and right with 2 tandem 22's above... envious...:)

  7. Heh, it's called moving from wasting my time daytrading equities to daytrading index futures. One large monitor by itself will hold everything that I need for this task. And freeware / shareware just won't cut it.

don't give away your 22"s yet. Daytrading index futures requires many indicators for early signal. As you build up your tool chest, you can end up with 4 screens easily. ;-)>

You need one screen to watch for set ups and another three to keep an eye on all the things that can f*ck you. Seriously.

"... just won't cut it" - an exceptionally closed-minded, uninformed view. Such dismissive mindset should serve you very well as you wisely move away from wasting your time to not.
