Traders should have exactly that tattooed into their foreheads... backwards, of course, so that they get the proper reminder every time the look in the mirror!
I started in Spring on `98 with Spooz Mini... inception date was fall of `97... Big players used to scoff at the E- mini.. proudly boasting they only trade the Big Boys/ Pit Traded.... I knew it was the future as it was just too efficient & profitable .. no Out Trades, etc. ..not to last ... Now we have the Micro-Mini... Go Figure ... The Lewis Borsellinos of the world have faded away...
How long have you been in this game? I mean dude... I reserved comment earlier.... But I would think you have been around long enough to know that what everybody and their brother thinks.... is the biggest losing trade of all. I got stuck in a traffic jam or I'd be up at least 5 points. Nothing to write home about, but it sure as hell ain't 49 to to 65 points on the upside. Not singling you out btw... I lol'd at this whole thread earlier... I mean like 10AM earlier.
I really thought we`d be up as well... not quite that hi but still up... Had we received that news in RTH, we`d have had a strong short squeeze North as "breaking News" would hit the wire... Perfect example of Not to trade what one thinks....
Well, when you speak, the wise listen. Nobody's right 100% ... I had a feeling we'd be flat at the open. I just got back, I need to look at a bunch of things.
I traded the big contract way back when. My broker was one of the better ones... having a phone rep outside the pit to signal orders more quickly. The ES caught on because of lower costs. Many ETers don't realize the "cost of transaction" is not just the commission... it's commission/fees + spread + slippage. With its virtually instant fills, the electronic ES saved so much in slippage that the electronic format supplanted the pit.
Just crazy for me then. And I am a futures trades. Just because I do not trade the ES does not mean I cannot post on B1's ES thread. There have been plenty of other future instrument calls in the ES journal thread. B! does not seem to mind that bit, and so it continues. Your deductive reasoning has failed you. My journal would have borne this out for you.
Yes. "Trade with your eyes".... not your gut, your heart, or your brain. The market is the final arbiter of price... regardless of what YOU hope, think, expect, fear, etc... KISS baby, as always.
