Excel Help Please

I have a column of numbers in an excel sheet. I have figured everything I want except the "mean" and can't find the correct function command. Anyone help? TIA

 

=average(a:a) or whatever your column is

summing the numbers up and dividing by N would have worked too LOL. Just kidding.

 

I broke down and used the AVERAGE Fx.

 

I'm looking to create a real time spreadsheet. I have AT which has a nice DDE link, however I don't know how to create new rows every 5 minutes so I can calculate formulas. I also need help creating an alarm of some sort.

Does anyone have something similiar already that they might want to sell?
