  1. This cop should have just shot the mutherfuckr and be done with it , why waste the time of the courts and lawyers and shit.
Be cop , judge , jury , executioner and hero all in one take.

Neighbors stunned as cop takes down Black Amazon driver for parking the wrong way

A neighborhood in Warren, Michigan expressed shock this week when local police took down a black Amazon driver for merely parking the wrong way on their street.

Fox 2 Detroit reports that witnesses say the Amazon driver was tackled by a police officer shortly after delivering a package to local resident Diana Gouim.

Gouim’s neighbor, Geri Cheatham, tells Fox 2 Detroit that she didn’t understand why the police officer tackled the driver and why he then called for backup.

“It was ridiculous for one little kid that was the size of me,” she tells the station.

Jim Michaels, another witness on the scene, tells Fox 2 Detroit that many of the neighbors tried to convince the officers that the driver had done nothing wrong.

“We, several of the neighbors, spoke with the officer saying the kid hasn’t done anything and the cop was like well, ‘He was parked the wrong way,'” Michaels recalls

  2. Apologists for the cops in 3...2....

Let me guess.... More Black Amazon drivers park the wrong way so it should come as no surprise they are treated this way.

Oh and before you think the authorities learned anything about excessive police force:

The police commissioner is recommending felony charges of resisting arrest, failing to obey a lawful command, and failure to produce a driver's license.

    What the fuck...

Yes, I'm a terrible "team player". Yet I think I'm on the side of common sense and rationality.

Only thing I agree with is the fact that US cops are much too violent and the standards for giving badges out is much much too low. In other countries police are effectively public servants, they have guns and will kill you if necessary but they're not itching to kill. First priority of police needs to be to de-escalate. Don't see it much in US, most seem to be power-tripping and joined the force for all the wrong reasons.

The Daniel Shaver video is the perfect example. Philip Brailsford needs to be jailed for life, not walking as a free man. So the police have brought it onto themselves.

That said, it has nothing to do with blacks per se. They are just trying to hijack the issue.

you say "way too often" here, and I am not in any way trying to make light of these cases where there was clear evidence of police officers committing murder. But how many traffic stops are made each year by how many hundreds of thousands of police officers?

It isn't endemic, and we shouldn't claim it is.

  5. It's not a team thing. It's a judgment thing.
Is that not the main point of the protesting going on right now? Do you really believe the racial discrimination is limited to policing? No coloring outside those lines, so to speak?

Who apologizes for the cops around here? There are cases in which we want to know all the facts before we decide to execute the cop, but once evidence is presented showing an officer has done wrong, who here has apologized for them?

I do find it rather interesting that videos always start at the most advantageous point to present the position that the police are guilty. Like this one. What happened before it? This from Spike's article:

Police Commissioner Bill Dwyer said during a Wednesday press conference that he was recommending felony charges of resisting arrest, failure to obey a lawful command, and failure to provide a driver's license.
That's a significant claim - felony charges of resisting arrest. Tell me, Ocho, are you going to retract your statement if it is determined that the individual resisted arrest or a lawful command in some physical manner?

I'm sure Spike is googling furiously to find as many examples of one sided stories as he can right now.

  7. Traffic stops should never lead to death when someone is unarmed or has not committed even a felony. I will go and say 1 is too many but I certainly can list several and we should not just limit it to traffic stops. The lists is growing and let us not just include death but those who were tased or dragged into the police station for things others would just get a ticket or warning.

People do not like anecdotal evidence but when you speak to many many Black people talk about their experience when they get pulled over they are treated far different than I or other people who are white have explained, be at day or night.

You can choose to downplay it but every time my Black friends, and one is 3rd highest position in huge publicly traded company, they tell me the fear and interactions they have had. Those never get reported.

Maybe he should have parked on the sidewalk... or is that only for motorcycles?

I don't have the stats but it does seem to happen a bit too often. The problem is that cops always seem to catch a break. Say "he was reaching for his gun" and you're free to go. If cops are penalized properly and act accordingly, I doubt the issue would go this far. The average person clearly does not care about stats, so one sensationalized story can affect millions of people, that much is clear.

  10. Hmmmm... felony charge of resisting arrest means he would have to be in the process of being arrested then.

So parking your Amazon car while Black on a street to drop off a package is cause for arrest?
3-4 cops were needed to subdue an unarmed man just standing there because he did not immediately hand over his license when pushed by a cop?

Let me tell you......you cannot be charged for resisting arrest unless you were being placed under arrest.

So as of right now the cops acted in a bullshit manner. Parking your delivery van temporarily to drop off a package in a commercial vehicle is at WORST a ticket if a repeat offender or blocking an emergency vehicle, at BEST a request to please move the van and try not to park that way in the future (the same courtesy most people are given).

So yes I can look at the facts and tell you it was BULLSHIT to charge felony resisting arrest for a traffic issue.
