No, but if the Trump team decided to sell the country in order to give favorable terms to a hostile state, by say, removing trade sanctions, releasing assets and capital, and/or sabotaging the possibility of an administration less willing to bend to said will, it could be treason.

"Treason against the United States shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open Court. The Congress shall have power to declare the punishment of treason."

They could also get them on the Federal Election Campaign Act which prohibits taking contributions from foreign entities; this is generally monetary, but dirty laundry about the opponent has similar influencing effect.

Not to mention the whole Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, if the Trumps were taking dirty money or conducting business w/shady characters and w/prior knowledge before the election even started.

Just curious, everyone on the left is up in arms about another country (Russia) supposedly interfering in our election.

So how does the left justify Obama sending senior members of his election team with financial aid in 2015 to Israel to help the opposition against Netanyahu in their election?

The Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA) prohibits any foreign national from contributing, donating or spending funds in connection with any federal, state, or local election in the United States, either directly or indirectly. It is also unlawful to help foreign nationals violate that ban or to solicit, receive or accept contributions or donations from them. Persons who knowingly and willfully engage in these activities may be subject to fines and/or imprisonment."......

The DOJ....interperts..."donations".....as anything of value....Information about opposing candidates.....

    "foreign nationals" = russians.....

Why would Obama have an election team in 2015, he hired individuals in 2008 and 2012 who are free to be hired by others as well. David Cameron hired some who worked for Obama team as well.

And the rest of that talking point - http://www.politifact.com/punditfac...laims-us-funded-anti-netanyahu-election-effo/

Yet the Clinton foundation accepted millions from foreign nationals.

    Go figure.

Whatever, I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy of the left concerning election interference... Regardless of your opinion there's more actual evidence of interference by the US (Under Obama's watch) interfering in Israeli elections than anything in the current media's Trump/Russia debacle
