Yup, few articles on yahoo finance and new Dalio's born. One just moves into swing trading, and would spend few hours a week on managing portfolio, thus how one could ever leave it & what kind of the profits does he has/had, if he needs a job. (i simply mean, that probably person wasn't that good at it, in the first place)
You're noticing this because you're actually paying attention. This has been happening since at least 2014. Do you remember back in 00' when every commercial had Joe WhiteCollar doing "online trading"? It's the same thing. People see easy ways to gamble and have no sense of risk. It's just a little worse now because back in the aughts you at least had to demonstrate income. Why not ask them for tips? Then set aside a small fund to do the exact opposite ;D.
Lets see just how good the shut ins are doing. Here is the highest volume stock for yesterday. Big intra-day gap after halt, plunged about 75% from where the majority got trapped. AG Eagle UAVS (low float)
Alot of my friends have also started trading in this lockdown and since the market is really volatile, it's a very good time to do trading and earn some profits.
i dont think so its a more appropriate time to bring more from from trading , according to my trading experience , i think its a time when you can focus on your learning section which approach can make you more knowledgeable than before. this free time may be people will never get again if they can survive.
day trading is the best job during lock down. because you can trade from sun rise to sun set, from moon rise to moon set. you can trade from start of Asian session to end of Asian session/start of Eur session to end of Eur session/start of US session to end of US session. That's why I have day and night trading Derivatives futures Journal. You can trade when Asia is having holiday as Eur / US might not be on holiday. You can trade when Eur is having holiday as Asia / US might not be on holiday. You can trade when US is having holiday .... You can work and work and work non stop for perhaps 22 hours a day when millions upon millions of people in the whole world are crying out for job. Excellent place for workaholic !!!!! It is also suitable for those who just want to work for few hours a day. No matter much much deadly virus there is out there, your job is secured. No matter how terrible the unemployment rate is, your job is secured. No matter how terrible the GDP / recession is, your job is secured. And you don't have to answer to nasty horrible unreasonable sarcastic hopeless boss because there is no boss but you youself. I have thought about all these mega disasters years ago and that was why I planned to do day trading years ago. And now I am prepared for the coming mega disasterssss. BUT! If you didn't do enough homework, please don't ever do day trading. Because you need to practice as if you were going for Olympics running competition where you have to run 12 hours a day, 7 days a week non stop, 52 weeks a year ....
I am thinking that we are entering the same environment as what we had in the late nineties - remember, when everyone was a “trader.” We have cryptos which has a .com feel. We have zero commissions. We have people that even after lockdown will have more freedom to work remotely. We have internet becoming more available, affordable, and reliable around the world. We have proliferation of legit (semi-legit) trading rooms. We have companies willing to provide you with capital with minimal track record. We have perpetual Fed put. We have a generation of Robinhood traders/investors that seem to have no fear. Great times ahead for traders around the world!
Great time to trade... if you have money and decent brokers. I have heard some relatives jumping on robinhood. I honestly don't know anything about robinhood except those shutdown issues. Does anyone here trade on robinhood?
robinhood getting a lot of traction here at the forum lately. Must be old timer traders returning back to the markets. wrbtrader
