Everybody complaining about "socialism"

  1. So socialism is getting your own money back?

    Sounds very reasonable.

  2. Call it what you want. You seem to have your own specialized definitions designed to illustrate a point that no one else gets.

Why don't you spend some time explaining to me why wanting my money back means I "believe in socialism".

Guess what Dave, I don't believe in crime either. But if someone steals my car, later the cops find it and return it, I'll take it back. How does that indicate I believe in crime?

  3. A limited degree of socialism and welfare for the rich is goodfor the economy and stock market.

  4. This form requires a declaration to a religious sector that's recognized. I have a better way to opt out but they (the government/politicians) won't allow it. I'd like to find what portion of the debt that I am responsible for and pay it with the understanding that I can not be encombered by the government for any additional spending for the rest of my life. For this I'd gladly opt out of the SS/taxes ponzi game! :)

It's theft in that it's money they took FROM HIM. He'd like to have it back.

PS. Btw, I don't have a problem with SS and some other forms of socialism as well. I do think that we have some obligation to those less fortunate.

I hate seeing all that money being ripped out of my paycheck every week. Sometimes I get so angry that I curse FDR and the socialist commies that came up with the idea. Every year when I get my statement from the social security administration I scream that I want my money. I would even let them keep the half that they took from my employers if they would just give me back my half.

It's money that I earned and I damb well know how to handle it myself without nanny gubmint!

OK, wanna know the truth? I would have blown those tens of thousands of dollars at the bar. I admit it, I'm not very good with money. And neither are a lot of other people, (not referring to those financial geniuses here on ET who would have parlayed their social security money into billions of dollars betting with futures contracts, just us sheeple). Frankly, without social security there'd be a lot of old folks spending their last years sitting on a sidewalk holding a dirty styrofoam cup begging for spare change. And no one to pay for their burial either, (I promise to stop beggining my sentences with conjunctions someday).

I'm deeply sorry for you hard working productive and independent financial geniuses who's lives are being devastated by this "socialist" government. Us sheeple who like to drive on roads and have the gall to want to know what ingredents are in our food are just parasites to you. Let me know what I can do to make it up to you.

You are at least partly missing the point.

    1. The Government is SUPPOSED to "do the people's business"... we each pay so that the government can do on our collective behalf that we can't do individually... like provide roads, police and fire, attempt to insure the safety of food and medications, and many other things.

    2. The Social Security system was a decent concept. But to be maintained it needed "adjustment"... not just higher SS and Medicare taxes. (And BTW... the SS reserve didn't need to be STOLEN BY CONGRESS just because we "weren't using it just now"..)

But "spreading the wealth around" is not in the spirit of "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness", nor is depriving a citizen of his property without due process of law"...

  8. Okay, so you only want back the money that you paid into SS and you will be refusing anything beyond that amount.

Ha ha... no, of course you won't.

Because they are giving you someone else's car.

  9. You can do that -- and you don't even have to pay the debt that you owe. All you have to do is to move to a better climate, shield your income, and if you really want to pay very little, turn in your passport and renounce your citizenship.
