No, that was always the stupid thing about sports below 10 years old. Why does everyone get a trophy? The only time it really mattered was winning tri-state tournaments in a competitive hockey league.
Yet another insipid response and all you can do when you've lost the argument and have nothing of substance to offer.
There was once a time you could just show up in Oklahoma and get free land. The world has changed. Taxation is certainly one of the issues, how much does it cost to educate a child today? For god's sake, my grandfather was educated in a one room school house. (NON-Unionized) Simply solution TAX Business and Risk Out of Existence! The current whiners will be appeased when we are all reduced to their level.
Ever heard of H1-Bs? I have several intelligent friends with graduate degrees and many of them can't find jobs. It's hard to compete with Bihar Pradesh when he's willing to do the same job for $20k/year. Mr. Pradesh isn't better or smarter than his American counterparts either. He's simply cheaper. Globalization works great on paper, doesn't it?
As I said... watch the excuses roll in. Have you or your friends ever heard of career planning based on economic and demographic trends? Apparently not. I suggested becoming a vet which is bulletproof as long as you're willing to be flexible about where you practice. There are plenty of other such careers but going into the right one takes a little research. If people think they can just get a degree in whatever they want to and then be set for life they're going to be sadly disappointed like your friends. Globalization is a reality and one can plan accordingly or be crushed by it.
yup, vet is bullet proof http://veterinarybusiness.dvm360.co...t-job-m/ArticleStandard/Article/detail/570054
Of course we're in a recession but vets are doing just fine. If you'd gone to the latest info (Mar 09) from a credible source of information (The American Veterinary Medical Association) you would have learned that there has been an impact on some but not all vets and it hasn't been too bad. And if you'd dug deeper, you would have found that there are even shortages in areas like treating farm animals and gov't inspectors. The second link covers how vets are handling it and gives tips which would be useless to someone with a victim's mentality so you may want to skip that one. Maybe you were disappointed because you were looking for something more like welfare? Economy means slowdown for some veterinarians http://www.avma.org/onlnews/javma/mar09/090301a.asp Practitioners discuss how they are weathering the downturn http://www.avma.org/onlnews/javma/mar09/090301b.asp
It's all fairly easy to figure out. Ever hear of the "Peter principle"? As a nation, we have arrived!
Their degrees are in engineering and CompSci, you jackass. Those are hardly useless degrees. I do have one friend with a finance degree and can't find a job, which is understandable right now. He's going for an MS in Financial Engineering to give himself an edge. So I guess we should all become doctors then? What if I have no interest whatsoever in the medical field and the sight of blood makes me gag?
