We Just Obliterated the Global Heat Record "This is what global warming looks like. Record after record after record, broken. The animation below shows the Earth’s warming climate, recorded in monthly measurements from land and sea over 136 years. The bright red line on top shows how 2015 just beat out the previous record—2014—by the biggest margin since modern record keeping began. Fifteen of the 16 hottest years have been in the 21st century..." http://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/hottest-year-on-record/
Not necessarily. Since there's been no warming for 17 years, and not very many new cold records, and the models are wrong, it stands to reason that the cold records we did see must have been very cold indeed. Like 200 C below normal! ; )
We need some perspective here. Temps have been going up since the last ice age. Do you have any science to produce at all showing that any warming we are experiencing is outside natural variation? Really... do you understand the significance of the question?
"Wednesday's announcement is backed up by the Berkeley Earth study released last week, which called 2015 "unambiguously the hottest year on record." "This new high temperature record confirms our previous interpretation that the pause was temporary and that global warming has not slowed," Richard Muller, scientific director of Berkeley Earth, said in a statement. (The "pause" was the dozen-plus years before 2014 when global temperatures basically held steady.) "The decades-long rise due to greenhouse gas emission is now clearly continuing," added Robert Rohde, the lead scientist on the Berkeley Earth study. "
Blame The Flintstones? Early man caused global warming, study says http://www.foxnews.com/science/2016...rly-man-caused-global-warming-study-says.html
Ok... we know that with adjustments being made to the record the land and sea temp per the instrument record hit new highs. Last I read the temperature over land did not hit new highs and neither did the satellite record did not. We can call that science. We also know that ocean temps have been rising since the last ice age. The science we should be ooking for is the part that backs up that last sentence of your quote. Do you realize how scummy that last sentence is... since there is no peer reviewed science showing man made co2 causes warming. Its the same as saying the Dow went down today because of Obama's policies. It may be true but there are so many variables we don't have a handle on (including what the Fed does)... its really impossible to say it really is all Obama's fault. Maybe its only a little his fault... maybe he actually made the Dow go up? How do you know without hard data or science showing it?
models... and more models. which have not done well on real time data. the only thing that even seemed remotely sciencey there was the bit about the lighter co2 in the mix. We know the mix would change... the question is what has caused the accumulation of co2 overall and whether increasing man made co2 causes warming. The answer from your link is models. There budget models seems to make a whole lot of assumptions about who accurately they can measure "forcings". its a lot of guesswork and no dependable science.
