Which is why publicly funded news like PBS is so important. What are the chances that CNN will run anything negative their parent company GE ? The fox's are guarding the hen houses.
Trump's Golf Course Believes in Global Warming Donald Trump says he’ll run the country the way he runs his business -- which sounds more like a threat than a boast. At least when it comes to climate change, he ought to keep his word. Trump has long aligned himself with climate change deniers, calling the issue a “hoax” and worse. But in Ireland, Trump International Golf Links has asked to build a sea wall to protect a waterfront resort against “global warming and its effects.” So which is it? A politician talking out of both sides of his mouth hardly qualifies as news, but Trump’s recognition of the threat climate change poses to his business is noteworthy because it mirrors a growing consensus within the private sector. A new report by the World Bank finds that by 2050, natural disasters related to climate change will threaten 1.3 billion people -- and $1.6trillion in economic assets. Over the past several years, business leaders have increasingly started to assess their exposure to these risks and press for bolder government actions to mitigate them. Whether it’s climate change or market volatility, hedging against risk is standard practice in the business world. No executive or board of directors can afford to ignore variables that carry potentially catastrophic consequences for their holdings. Whatever their personal political views, preparing for and mitigating climate change is simply smart business. Trump recognizes that in Ireland. It would be nice if he’d acknowledge it in America, too... http://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2016-05-23/trump-s-golf-course-believes-in-global-warming
that is comedy coming from bloomberg. So everyone who buys a put thinks the market is going to go down? It is wise to protect against potential stroms or potential climate change even if you know there is no science showing that man made co2 is causing warming. Protecting against storms is just good business... oceans have been rising since the last ice age.
When the earth is warmer there is more precipitation? What!? The northern hemisphere was warmer 6,000 to 4,000 years ago than today? How can this be? http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2016-05/uab-aho052316.php An early study in this field finds that snowfall at one key location in western Greenland may have intensified from 6,000 to 4,000 years ago, a period when the planet's Northern Hemisphere was warmer than it is today. While more research needs to be done to draw conclusions about ancient precipitation patterns across Greenland, the new results are consistent with the hypothesis that global warming could drive increasing Arctic snowfall -- a trend that would slow the shrinkage of the Greenland Ice Sheet and, ultimately, affect the pace at which sea levels rise.
The problem here is that it is scientists saying this, and we know their science is "nothing more than a marketing tool."
Look. Absolutely no need for cap and fleece. U.S. energy-related carbon dioxide emissions in 2015 are 12% below their 2005 levels http://www.eia.gov/todayinenergy/detail.cfm?id=26152&src=email
I post graphs from the EIA that is part of the U.S. Deparment of Energy that reports to the Obama adminstration. As the graphs I posted demonstrate, there is absolutely no need for cap and fleece in the US.
