This is the kind of mass hysteria b.s. that the left loves to push when it comes to global warming. Here is a line from the article: "The researchers fear that 75% of the species we know today could be lost in just two generations' time." Would anyone who actually had money on the line ever bank on something that ridiculous? Basically they are saying that if temperatures go up a couple degrees we are going to see extinction levels on par with the event that wiped out the dinosaurs, even though there is more different forms of life in warm climates than cold ones. Its laughable, and the only people who would make that kind of claim are those whose job doesnt rely on accuracy.
I can't believe I'm saying this to you but....valid point. I don't know where they got that number because what I've seen is 1/6 of all species in a hundred years or so. I've never seen a 75% number. Irresponsible journalism. What else is new.

Yup, crap journalism. She left out the qualifier "familiar species". Like lions and rhinos. For a better look at the study. http://www.usnews.com/news/blogs/da...cies-to-be-wiped-out-in-sixth-mass-extinction Still, pretty grim.
