Time for us to wake up and leave that shit hole for good, what the hell are we doing there when even some of the neocons no longer want to be there?

Shouldn't we be asking the commander in chief?
After all he IS the only reason we're still there.

Sadly i think we are stuck there for the long haul, everyone knows the second we pull the pin on afghanistan its going to be back to "death to america" and burning American flags in the streets, and lynching americans, and no one wants to put their name on the failure in Afghanistan, so we will keep going on in this hopeless mission forever, because politicians only care about the next election....

    Agree with the OP, again.

We should have left after the Taliban collapsed in 2002. We can always go back if/when necessary.

Afghanistan isn't going to be civilized by the West.

Yeah, Bush started the war but his chief error was staying put and trying to nation build. Obama doubled down on the Bush policies and expanded the war there, twice.

Time to withdraw. Now is as good as any time. Let Karzai go to hell the little ratfuck.

There's no need for keeping regulars/heavy infantry on the ground there in some kind of perpetual meat grinder. Just have enough SF and spook networks there to provide intel and carry on light infantry and forward observation activities against insurgent base camps and new taliban-style groups. Target their leadership and logistics bases with drone strikes.

  6. Main reason to stay is that taxpayers are billed for this little enterprise and money is good..
War industry is happy and reelection contributions are rolling in.......happy times

They are in position to shake up the whole region. Iran, Syria, Pakistan. Would like to see it over, but they are gonna pull more b.s. That whole region is gonna get it when this is all said and done. And Iran trading oil in something other than us dollars... ok sure, nothing to see here.
