I am not talking about the source, I am referring to your own calculations. They kind of give your level of understanding how statistics work away.
The vaccine doesn't "mess with" the body, it activates an already existing mechanism. I see it as the same idea as lifting weights to activate muscular hypertrophy, or fasting to activate cellular autophagy.
Humans will spread into the universe. Assuming nobody out there objects. Remember I was a ranger dealing with endangered species etc. but also herds in general. We are in the end of the day a mammal species. Why is there not a single superspecies on Earth, what is the mechanism that prevents only one creature existing? We are bumping up against that pretty hard.
Well we will disagree there I see it as no sweat providing we survive the AI era in a recognisable form. I'm plugged into a lot of science channels through family and the rate at which things are moving from scifi to reality is still impressive.
Anything that self replicates really. Pathogens are a great leveller as herds become super opportunities for a bacteria or virus best suited to exploit. They get to a size and disease takes them down a peg. Our nation states born from the inherent fear of outsiders etc. (particularly strong in the repugs who exist due to selection) is all a way to manage resources and pathogens. I saw that first hand in a very tooth and claw manner during my years in Africa. We have the capability of staying ahead, for the most part but it sure as hell won't be 'natural' and its not been that way since science yielded modern medicine. Antibiotics particularly of course. Obviously it's a big area, many angles.
Just a few weeks ago this was on Drudge. The scientists I read pretty much guaranteed this was the last step to needed to have fusion energy. MIT Bezos Gates. --- The new magnet from CFS and MIT is strong enough that when the team builds a its donut-shaped fusion machine, called a tokamak, with these magnets, it will be able to achieve “net energy,” meaning that the fusion machine makes more energy that it takes to initiate and sustain the reaction, CFS and MIT’s PSFC said. Fusion gets closer with successful test of new kind of magnet
Dr. Raven “the Science Maven” Baxter, an award-winning science educator, molecular biologist and lyricist, offered rapper Nicki Minaj an opportunity to discuss the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines this week through a shared love of hip-hop music. “I’m an educator ... but I’m also a rapper,” Baxter told Yahoo News. “Music has always been a means to deliver a message, and it doesn’t stop at science.” Nicki Minaj Just Tried to Dox Two Reporters Though it seems impossible that this week did not end on Tuesday, which was the day after the Met Gala that Nicki Minaj declined to attend because she isn’t vaccinated, time has marched on, bringing us to today’s developments: Nicki Minaj is once again using her massive platform and following for evil by appearing to share personal information of some reporters looking into her claims about her Trinidadian’s cousin’s friend’s balls. Minaj began this week by casually tweeting about her refusal to get vaccinated and the alleged adverse side effects from the vaccine that caused a friend of a friend of a friend to experience testicular swelling. This claim has been debunked by the minister of health in Trinidad and Tobago as well as Dr. Anthony Fauci, who was asked about this debacle in an interview on CNN on Tuesday. Ideally, the news cycle around this kerfuffle would’ve ended there; there is no evidence that supports the claim that the vaccine causes testicular swelling, and everyone should refer to what the evidence does state, which is that getting a vaccine against covid-19 will greatly reduce your chances of getting deathly ill from the virus. However, on Friday afternoon, Minaj hopped on Instagram and posted screenshots to her Story that allegedly show a conversation between a reporter in Trinidad attempting to contact some of her family members. One assumes that this reporter must be doing so in order to verify the claims of swollen balls, but we will likely never know the truth, because Minaj also used her Story to attempt to dox the reporters by posting a picture of a business card, a name and a phone number, followed by a few pictures ganked from Google of the reporter in question. (Linking to the Story in this piece would be irresponsible, so if you’re so inclined to watch this sort of drama play out in real time, you can certainly find it for yourself
Awful lot of clickbait these days in science coffee table publishing as it's popular with the general public. Despite the endless nearly there stuff, we are actually nearly there with some cool shit I feel in my jellies. My cousin was tangentially involved in a project with graphene reinforced concrete. 20 years of bla bla bla but suddenly, it's starting to get used for stuff.
