McCain has 30 years of government experience, and yes, is very old. If he does not pass away in office, he has a strong chance of developing age related dementia. Obama has both public and private experience, his resume is not thin, he has been a director, an author, a state Senator, a US Senator, a lawyer, and so on. So yes, Obama has a greater diversity of experience, and therefore a wider variety of experience, than McCain has. Obama graduated at the top of his class at Harvard, and also went to Columbia. McCain did not, and graduated in the bottom five of his class of 899. Palin went to six colleges in five years and scraped through a diploma from third rate schools. There really isn't any comparison at all between the two candidates.
"McCain did not, and graduated in the bottom five of his class of 899. Palin went to six colleges in five years and scraped through a diploma from third rate schools"<<< do you think that really matters to brain-washed die-hards like we read above?! McCain is too old for this job... and yes I would rather TRUST Obama's intellect and passion and other notable communication skills to help him "muddle through" and lead us the next 4 years... and OVERACHIEVE.... than KNOW that McCain doesn't have what it takes to improve upon the past 8 years of disgrace under his fellow republican Bush-league and suffer through another 4 years of UNDER-achievement for the USA! It's risk/reward just like in trading. I see Obama not much different than a start-up internet company like Amazon with real upside potential. I am serious!
George W. Bush is a former governor of Texas. Did his experience help? What was obvious from the way he governed was that he used the buddy system to get and instill loyalty. To get others to support him he created bogeymen and used ideological brinksmanship painting everything in extremes to scare and cajole everybody into falling in line. And he is expert at it, shown by his winning the White House. But it is a fundamentally dishonest and disingenuous kind of leadership. I don't just want to see experience. I also want to see some semblance of integrity.
Yesterday I would have said that both candidates are reasonably honest, but then Letterman went on the air claiming (and joking) about McCain's lying to him.
What evidence do you have that "obama graduated at the top of his class at Harvard?" I assume you are joking about Obama's vast experience. He was a community organizer, errand boy for Tony Rezko and his pal former terrorist Bill Ayers installed him as the head of a radical foundation. His only other achievement was running repeatedly for public office. he finally won a state senate seat by getting his rival candiate kicked off the ballot. Gotta love chicago. McCain had a distinguished military career, capped off by commanding the largest naval flight squadron. Basically, McCain has done things, Obama has talked a lot and done very little. Biden has a one line resume, Senator for 35 years. He's done a lot of talking too, accomplished nothing. Sarah Palin has accomplished more in her short career than Obama and Biden combined. But I know, you guys just "trust" obama.
The fact that he graduated magna cum laude. It's Latin, you know, for "with great honors" -- usually it means the top of the class, unlike summa cum laude which means second in the class. Well as I've pointed out repeatedly before, Ayers didn't appoint him to any board, and in fact was not even on the board that he was elected director of. Tony Rezko wasn't involved in anything -- even peripherally -- until years later. His "only other achievement" is another lie, as he wrote multiple books. As for getting his "rival candidate kicked off the ballot" that's politics -- she didn't obey the rules and got caught. No McCain is a hero, but did not have a distinguished military career. He crashed five planes after graduating from the bottom of his class. It's odd that you say that given that McCain has "done things" which you can't seem to explain, other than a short military career and a decades long career in the government.
Actually looking back at the 60's one could easily assert that Ayers and the Weathermen and SDS are heroes! I remember like it was yesterday watching the '68 convention/Grant Park riot with my grammar school buddy, and thinking this was 1776 all over again. IF Ayers was born in the mid-late 18th Century he would be called a PATRIOT! Anyone who is attacking Obama on this "relationship".... actually read history? Anyone live through these times?
Listen..... maybe if Johnnie wins he will seek to have his buddy Keating become the new SEC Chairman!! TRUST!? DUH!
