It is interesting that the US election system is such that the debates is only about the 2 major parties candidates. The outsiders at least allow us to understand better how this system works.
Learning more about the US system. Apparently, an election can be "hijacked" if none of the major candidates scores the winning percentage! I am sure, even Americans do not know that.
For us abroad, luckily there are very high quality candidates like Evan McMullin. Otherwise, we were really wondering about what type of candidates American system was able to produce.
Interesting: the concept of "indirect democracy" , an euphemist way of designating US political system. Popular vote vs Electoral College voting system. Why are some people so scarred of democracy with no "euphemism"? Can't trust the morons????
"Democracy" american -style. . I was so ignorant. Thanks Evan McMullin for reminding how the US election system really works. So actually the senators and the representatives are those who elect the President. It will be interesting to find out about how senators and representatives are "filtered" among the population, so as to keep the "morons" out. And this is America who goes and bomb people all over the world in the name of "Democracy"!
really if not for these candidates like Evan McMullin, we'd all be taken for a ride as far as beliefs about "democracy" american-style.
If Americans knew. No wonder in some European countries they don't do non-sense like that. Those countries being the one who mostly had the "peasants' hanging (guillotine, fusillade, pitchforks) or their royalties, or their "lords" at al.
