I am continually amazed by how shallow your logic is here on ET. You really need to check yourself. Europeans ( in general ) like Obama because they hate the frat-boy Bush so much. In other words, it doesn't have as much to do with Obama, as it does with the personal distrust, disgust, and downright hatred for Bush.
They like Obama...because the Europeans want a weak president. The Europeans only like us if we do things their way, such as appeasement and endless diplomacy. Socialism, high taxes
Statistics - as we all know - can show you anything you'd like. Europeans are culturally similar to USA, but have not let religion gotten in way for their most important political decisions. Therein is an enormous divide between USA and Europe. The pride of religious diversity in the US has also led to very strong religious hold on all political aspects, with a strongly polarized nation - like the de facto two-party nation that is USA. Religion hinders evolution and adaptation for USA towards a changing world reality. The struggle and opposition this social conservatism creates can be very traumatic or even catastrophic if let run it's full course and not moderated by allowing stepwise changes. Take the Romans as a fitting example, but any great society for that matter...
Ummm, I don't know what kind of knowledge base that you have concerning world history, but we are nothing even close to being similar to doing things the "European" way. Never have, never will be. Question: If you think that Obama and Biden would make for a "weak" Presidency in regards to our allies and foes overseas, what kind of a President would Sarah Palin be in terms of Foreign Policy should Mc Cain die of a heart attack or succumb to his several bouts with cancer?
