not sure where I got the 30 days from.. maybe in a dream or something? all the same.. 6 months and one day is not so bad anyway.. cos with our country house in the nearby french hinterland and our cupboard in monaco I think we could manage the ratio ok.. after all its a mere hop and a jump and you are there..

and banjo.. after you qualify as a resident there are ZERO personal taxation rates! mmm.. I like the sound of that.. kinda civilized.. gotta pay vat tho.. shucks.. damn.. oh well.. lol

  2. "Remote" is relative.

Whe needs the alps if you can go for a short trip into the blue mountains anytime if you wanna go for a ski, oh and of course places like Trentham 30mins from Melbourne, where it snows quite frequently too.

Who needs London or NYC if you can go to Sydney, one of the world's most splendid metropolitans. Imagine NYC with an almost non-existent crimerate, no poverty (not in Australia, anyway), lots of great art, monumental architecture, awesome multiculturalism, sensational open people attitude, a sheer undescribable choice of gorgeous and unprejudiced girls, the greatest clubs and LAN-party locations, the mildest climate available to privileged westerners and whatever else you may seek. That is Sydney.

I've never lived there, but I'm seriously thinking about it. Lived in Europe not long ago. Was considering NYC, too - Liked the idea of an apartment with view over Manhattan, but then considered Sydney for the latter reasons. NYC is just too f*cked up these days. People are too hectic, there's too much crime and it's hard to 'get away' from the bustle. Besides, it's not even safe to walk through the central park. What's the point in living in a place like that? I'd rather go L.A.

I'm now living in the southwest of Australia, the opposite side of Sydney, and well it's a bit cool this time of the year, I'm just stoking that fire :D

I like your plan Neil, the best thing about trading is the mobility it potentially affords one. Freedom to roam the world and generate a cash flow while doing it.

  5. Yeah. Theoretically, anyway. Though I'm still trying to figure out how to do that with a couple of ATX's and half a dozen LCD's...

Anybody here any experience on intra-day trading while on the road?

    Cheers,

I don't think it is possible.
Where do you get broadband access over several hours while on the road ? I think there are a couple of interesting initiatives out there such as Vodafone Mobile Office where you can have assess at 56k (modem speed) to the internet. The problem is that data transfer rate is too slow currently, and you pay per kilobyte of data transmitted. As an example, i download already 300kb of data, just to LOG INTO redi plus....

Maybe WiFi will be our hope.

I do it. Los Angeles(home), Hawaii (Diomond Head/Kahala) couple mos. a year, Napa Vally Ca. Have cpu's in all three houses. Had a case made by guy who makes flight approved cases for instruments for bands for my four samsung flat panels and ship them ahead ups. I take my trading hard drive (removable bay ) with me and a cd back up. Have dsl or cable in all the places. Never tried it out of the states, don't see why it would be a prob.

  10. I would think it's highly posible to intraday trade on the road with one single LCD, particularly as one could trade with a strategy by placing only one set of order each day.
