Spain, Portugal, the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands were in the running for the 2018 World cup but lost to Russia, Qatar got the bid winning out on the US for 2022. If we look at where the world cup will take place since this year it will be S-Africa, Brazil, Russia and Qatar. Is it another sign of European and US influence waning on the international stage? Or should we be happy about losing out because regardless of the propaganda the taxpayer is always on the hook? Also, why would the Fifa favour developing nations? Please note by the way that FIFA demands all FIFA profit to be Tax Free!!!
