Euro-zone May retail sales slide larger-then-expected 0.4%

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Retail sales volume in the 16-nation euro zone fell by a larger-than-expected 0.4% in May, following a revised 0.1% increase in April, the European Union statistics agency Eurostat reported Friday. Compared to May 2008, sales fell 3.3%. Economists had forecast a 0.2% monthly decline and a 2.7% annual fall.

    City was crowded like never before.

    Shop till you drop.
     
  3. I was in the Marbella area the other week. Designer shops were dead, not a single customer in sight. Every now and then you'd see the odd botox MILF with fake boobs window shopping, but otherwise ultra dead.

    Easy to get seaside restaurant spots as well. Heard very few English voices, no Russian at all. Mostly Spanish. Tourism took a huge hit.
