European countries, especially France, reportedly are being hit by fake money as counterfeiters seem to have found the code for the euro. Britainâs Independent newspaper reports in the first six months of this year, 300,000 fake euro notes â 30 percent of them in France â were taken out of circulation. Most of the notes were printed in other countries. The euro, supposedly the most difficult currency to counterfeit, was introduced in 12 countries in January 2002.
