EURAUD - stopped out

Discussion in 'Forex' started by toolazy, Jan 14, 2015.

  1. Go put in a short 5k order on eur/aud and see what happens. You'd get the same spike as the OP did.

Don't really see how there's any concern of stop hunting unless you regularly think there's only a single trade in an hour... If you look at the same chart at two different scales you see there were plenty of trades going on in that time... I highly doubt anyone cares about your stop or even knows about it. Maybe this is just a simple case of being wrong about the direction of the breakout that happened and that's pretty much it?

Also that was right around the timeframe of the HG thing.

in forex, no matter how reputable your broker is, there is stop hunting, but it's not personal, it's just a matter of you being the only bid or ask

like I said, I've had my stop hit only because it was the only order out there, and I have had it sit for hours just a half a pip away and not get hit

it all evens out, no big deal

I was angry when starting this. Of course they (MM) hunt stops. And this is build in my system. I had smaller stop than usual because round number 1.45. It was discretionary decision, not supported by stat and my system. If I followed my system stop would not get hit. Or MM would have to run extra 60 pips which is harder.

If I followed my system would now laugh with 7k profit. But I got 5 k loss.

  7. That's wishful thinking. It would not have made a difference where you placed the stop. If they wanted your money they will move the price to wherever. A useful lesson to learn is that in trading, large profit comes from running small trades. If you bet large, you die. This applies to all noobies, many of whom won't be here this time next year.

Have a little think, 5k laying there waiting to be picked up. What would you do if you were in their shoes ? Free money for a few minutes work.

So what you're trying to say is that the "MM" or "they", "them" etc chased you around by hundreds of pips just to stop you out? Doubtful.

  9. Not doubtful at all. The OP can show you proof by way of a broker statement they chased him out. On the other hand you could not come up with anything to prove your case.

We could play if you like. We can run some quick experiments. I'll put in the money, and you can bet with your ego. If you feel confident, you can't lose either way. A busted ego can always come back in a new account.

they are a little delusional, I think they call it delusions of grandeur. But wouldn't it be nice to have the power to move a 100 pips at will?
