LONDON (Reuters) - The European Union may try to draw up a media code of conduct to avoid a repeat of the furor caused by the publication across Europe of cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad, an EU commissioner said on Thursday. In an interview with Britainâs Daily Telegraph, EU Justice and Security Commissioner Franco Frattini said the charter would encourage the media to show âprudenceâ when covering religion. âThe press will give the Muslim world the message: We are aware of the consequences of exercising the right of free expression,â he told the newspaper. âWe can and we are ready to self-regulate that right.â http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060209/wl_nm/religion_cartoons_eu_dc Just guidance for now, Big Brother saying "We'd appreciate it if you wouldn't say anything on this list."
Oh don't worry. This will be yet another item to cause Europeans to get pissed at one another, thereby contributing towards their interest of seeing that nothing is ever accomplished in the way of a constitution.
